During a recent investors conference, Nintendo announced some new details regarding their latest online network – Nintendo Network. You can read about all that over here.

They also said that there are over 200 titles in development for the 3DS  and revealed a new game, which they said is a 2D sidescrolling Mario game. I can only assume this is New Super Mario Bros. for the 3DS.

The release date for this game wasn’t specified but they did give a vague statement to expect it in their next fiscal year – March 2012 to April 2013.

3DS is going from strength to strength and a new Mario game, especially of the 2D variety is what pulls my heart strings.
