The 90s saw an explosion of innovative games, but not all of them got the love they deserve.

The 90s are generally considered the golden age of gaming. A plethora of amazing games were released, giving gamers more than enough to pick from. Naturally, some of the best titles slipped through the fingers of even the most ardent gaming fans. Fortunately, this feature will alert to you some of the underappreciated games that deserve more attention than they received.

System Shock (1994)

The game that started it all as far as story driven action and sci-fi shooters are concerned. Yes, we are talking about System Shock. At the time of its release, it garnered good reviews and slowly but surely built a cult following. System Shock is ahead of its time in many ways, blending cyberpunk elements with horror. Players take control of a nameless protagonist who wishes to put a stop to the nefarious AI SHODAN. It may be difficult for modern gamers to get into the swing of things, but it is worth it.

Things are spooky enough in these games but their endings are on another level.

Who doesn’t love a good scary ending? As time goes by, it seems less things scare us but build up the atmosphere properly and even the simplest ending can be frightening/dread-inducing. Let’s take a look at 15 such endings here.

Until Dawn – Everyone Dies

Make all the wrong decisions in Until Dawn and everyone dies. Who would have thought? Most everyone turn into Wendigos and it’s on Sam and Mike to survive by destroying the lodge when a gas leak breaks out. Of course, this can also be botched, causing the two to die in the explosion as well. Even if Josh somehow survives the whole ordeal, he’s seen in the post-credits turning into a Wendigo.

Controversies come and go but some of these are simply awe-inspiring in their stupidity.

Controversy and the gaming industry go hand in hand. There’s something controversial popping up seemingly every day, whether it’s for microtransactions, or murder. Still, there are some fairly dumb controversies that have occurred through history that still have us scratching our heads. Let’s take a look at 15 of them here.

Destiny: The Taken King and Emotes

Destiny players can get upset over the weirdest things. In 2015 prior to The Taken King being released, players were annoyed that the newest dances aka Emotes for each subclass were being restricted to the Collector’s Edition. Granted, they hadn’t had new dances in a while but such was the outrage that Bungie actually priced them separately for $20 to appease folk. There was also something director Luke Smith said about throwing money at the screen. Yeah, that didn’t help.
