However, the resume for an Environment and Prop Artist Jonathan Curiel revealed that Nihilistic was working on something else. Of all things, it was environments for a God of War PlayStation Home Space.

This never reached fruition and later, Nihilistic was tasked for creating a Ratchet & Clank Home Space before moving on to PlayStation Move: Heroes.

While this isn’t a bad thing to have on one’s resume, and Sony did create several other Home spaces for other games, it just feels a bit surreal to see which artist has worked on what obscure project in their lives. Goes with the territory, we suppose.

So yeah, you shouldn’t take that line seriously because there have been no reviews for the game so far and it doesn’t seem like the publishers have any faith in the game.

Nihilistic Software, it seems, are tired of developing for the PS Vita, or should I say ‘forced’ to develop for the system. That’s just speculation, however, arising from the fact that they’ve been doing the dirty work of developing games that the original developers of the specific IP don’t want to do.

They have announced that they have been thinking about concentrating on mobile and downloadable games in the future, and leaving the retail area.

“There’s no bigger cliché in the videogame industry right now than to say that a studio is re-organizing itself away from retail game development and toward the new challenges of downloadable and mobile games. Everyone knows retail sales are down, publishers are hurting, independent developers are suffering, blah blah blah,” they said on their official Facebook page.

“With this in mind, Nihilistic is announcing today that (OMG!) we are re-organizing our company after 14 years of working with retail boxed game development, and re-forming as nStigate Games, a new company focused on downloadable, on-line, and mobile games.

“The future for nStigate is yet to be written, but the history of Nihilistic is coming to a close. We thank all the people who have worked here over the last 14 years. It’s been a privilege and a joy to serve our players for the past years. We love what we do, and we love it when you guys like it. Thank you for playing.”

Their latest game for the PS Vita — Call of Duty Declassified — is set to release later next month on the same day as its bigger sibling Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Ouch.
