Team Ninja recently announced on Twitter that Nioh has sold over 2 million copies. An action RPG that channels Diablo 3, Ninja Gaiden and Soulslike combat, Nioh sees players taking on the role of William Adams, a sailor who comes to Japan seeking the dastardly Kelley before partaking in a civil war.

Nioh first arrived on PS4 in February 2017, shipping over one million copies at retail and digital within the first two weeks. Team Ninja subsequently released free updates and three paid expansion packs, developing the end-game all the more. When Nioh Complete Edition finally happened, it was announced to release on PC in November 2017 shortly after. Despite some launch issues, the PC version has garnered some good critical acclaim as well.

With Nioh having been in development for so many years, it would be interesting to see Team Ninja’s plans with the franchise. Will it announce a sequel at E3 2018 or Tokyo Game Show 2018? Stay tuned to find out.

Team Ninja’s Nioh: Complete Edition is now available on Steam, containing the critically acclaimed base game along with its three expansions. You can head here to pick up the game or check out its system requirements.

Nioh follows the tale of William in the late Sengoku Period as he battles monsters and other foes to locate Edward Kelley, who seems to be driving the conflict. The game has seen numerous updates, adding tougher missions, new items and weapons, and true PvP to the experience.

For those who want even more, Nioh: Complete Edition includes Dragon of the North, which includes the Tohoku region and Date Masamune, the so-called “one-eyed dragon”; Defiant Honor, where players must battle through the Siege of Osaka in Winter as Sanada Yukimura; and Bloodshed’s End where the Siege of Osaka’s summer campaign sees the Warring States period come to a close. An additional bonus for Steam consumers is the “Dharmachakra Kabuto” which can be selected from the “Boons” menu in a shrine.

It was revealed only a month ago that Nioh: Complete Edition would be making its way to the PC. Now Koei Tecmo has released a trailer which showcases the game running on PC. This version of the game will bring with it all previously released DLC content, including the three story DLCs ‘Dragon of the North’, ‘Defiant Honor’ and ‘Bloodshed’s End.’

The PC version of the game will feature two visual modes: one known as ‘Action Mode’ which will play at 30 fps and the other known as ‘Movie Mode’ which will support resolution up to 4K.  The PC settings will be fully customizable as opposed to what was assumed before.

The Steam version of the game will also come with a helmet known as ‘Dharmachakra Kabuto’. For those of you who are looking for a game like Dark Souls but with its own distinctive style, this may be the game for you. You can check out our own review for the game here.

Nioh: Complete Edition is set to release for the PC and PS4 on November 7^th.

The big news today was that the superlative Nioh, the great Souls-like by Team Ninja that hit the PS4 exclusively earlier this year, will also be coming to PC next month. Given the success of games like Dark Souls on PC, and just how great Nioh is, this is all around fantastic news, both for fans of this kind of a game, as well as for the game, and its prospective success.

Now, we know exactly what we need to be preparing for for the game to run on our machines- the minimum and recommended requirements for the PC version have been revealed. You can find them below- and you will find that they are rather demanding.

The interesting thing is that they are demanding without necessarily giving PC players the kind of control they expect over their gaming experience- there will be two modes, Action Mode and Movie Mode, with the former prioritizing a stable 60fps, and the latter a 4K resolution. This was also the case with the PS4 version- however, those who expected finer control over the game’s visual settings may find themselves unhappy with Nioh, should these presets be the only ones that are offered.

If Koei Tecmo updates us on the visual settings, we shall be sure to let you know. For now, here are the minimum and recommended requirements for the game:

It’s finally happening. Koei Tecmo has announced that Nioh: Complete Edition will be releasing for Steam on November 7th. Releasing on the same day for PS4, the Complete Edition will include all previously released DLC along with “enhanced graphical modes” as per a recent tweet.

Along with an incredibly meaty campaign in the base game, Nioh’s DLC adds even more content thanks to Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor and Bloodshed’s End (which launched recently).

Developer Team Ninja has also added a bunch of other content in the form of higher difficulties, true PvP and much more. When you consider how well the game has performed critically and commercially since launch, seeing it come to Steam is a great step forward.

Of course, it follows the trend of other developers like Platinum Games (with Nier: Automata, Bayonetta, Vanquish and the upcoming Okami HD) and Square Enix (the upcoming Final Fantasy 15: Windows Edition) releasing their games for Steam. Will Nioh perform as well? We’ll find out next month.
