In their Nintendo Conference 2010 held at Japan, which got over only moments ago, Nintendo announced the price of their upcoming handheld, the 3DS and it’s release date.

The 3DS will be released in Japan on the 26th of February next year, with a 25,000 yen price tag. That converts to around $300.

The release date for NA and EU is March, no price has been given. $300 sounds like a lot of money. But let’s see, the DSi XL cost something like $250 in Japan on release and $180 in the US. Nintendo won’t be stupid enough to over-price their handheld.

Western plans for the 3DS will be announced by Nintendo’s overseas branches.

Launch colours are blue (Aquatic Blue) and black (Cosmo Black).
