No More Heroes 3, the final game in the franchise, is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S after spending a year as a Switch exclusive.

No More Heroes 3 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Available digitally, the game can be grabbed for $49.99 for the standard edition, and $59.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. As part of its launch, both editions of the game across all platforms are available at a 10% discount until October 18.

The XSEED Games Store also has a physical release for No More Heroes 3. Dubbed the Day 1 Edition, the physical release includes an artbook, soundtrack, and a commemorative replica license plate alongside the game itself. The No More Heroes 3 Digital Deluxe Edition features a digital artbook and soundtrack.

“I’m thrilled that No More Heroes 3 is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox now,” said director and writer Suda51 in the press release. “Having the game available on all platforms lets Travis Touchdown close this chapter in his life with as many players as possible in his final battle!”

Grasshopper Manufacture's Goichi Suda says that while No More Heroes 3 was the series' conclusion, a sequel isn't entirely off the table.

2021’s No More Heroes 3 was the first time in quite a while that we got to see a new mainline game in the series, but of course, it also marked the end of the saga. Developer Grasshopper Manufacture emphasized at the time of its launch that the game was the series’ final instalment– though the door isn’t completely shut on future titles, it would seem.

Speaking in an interview with GNN (translated by VGC), series creator Goichu Suda (a.k.a. Suda51) said that while No More Heroes 3 marks the end of the series, there’s no telling what could happen down the road- and that if the fans are loud enough in their demand for a sequel, No More Heroes 4 might end up happening after all.

“Yes, that’s right, No More Heroes 3 is Travis’ last battle,” he said. “Nobody could say what’s going to happen 10 years from now, and I can’t say either. If there’s a big fan outcry, Travis might be back. Just like Tom Cruise came back as Maverick.”

If a No More Heroes 4 does end up happening, it’ll be interesting to see what Grasshopper Manufacture’s involvement in the project is. The studio was purchased by NetEase in October last year, prior to which Suda confirmed that it had five projects in development, with No More Heroes being fully back with publisher Marvelous.

No More Heroes 3 is set to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 11.

Marvelous announced earlier this year that No More Heroes 3 – which launched exclusively for the Nintendo Switch last year – would be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC later in 2022, and recently announced an October 6 release date for the game in Japan. Now, North American and European release dates for the game have also been confirmed.

Marvelous and XSEED Games have announced that in North America, No More Heroes 3 will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 11. In Europe, meanwhile, it launches on October 15.

The game will run at 4K and 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Physical versions will also be sold for PS5 and PS4 owners.

Beloved otaku and professional assassin Travis Touchdown came roaring back into the limelight last year when No More Heroes 3 launched for the Nintendo Switch, and soon, a great many more people are going to be able to dive into his newest adventure. Publisher Marvelous (who now fully own the property following developer Grasshopper Manufacture’s acquisition by NetEase) announced earlier this year that the action-adventure title would be coming to additional platforms later this year, and now we know when to expect that- in Japan at least.

No More Heroes 3 will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One in Japan on October 6. A digital deluxe edition of the game will also be sold, which will also include an artbook and a digital soundtrack. Meanwhile, the game will also receive a physical launch in the region- but for PlayStation consoles only.

On Xbox Series X and PS5, No More Heroes 3 will run in 4K at 60 FPS, while full Japanese audio has also been added. The latter is also coming to the game’s Nintendo Switch version as a free update. The full list of actors comprising its Japanese voice cast has also been confirmed.
The year had its share of hyped up adversaries but these 12 foes really failed to deliver for a variety of different reasons.

With every good boss fight that challenged you or offered some fun mechanics to embrace this year, there were several that didn’t. Damage sponges, cheap attacks, or just being an underwhelming threat as a whole – these are the 12 worst bosses of 2021 that encompass these problems (and many more).

Dimitrescu’s Daughters – Resident Evil Village

In the lead-up to Resident Evil Village, Dimitrescu and her daughters – Bela, Cassandra and Daniela – seemed like they’d be a major part of the game. While that proved false, Lady Alcina still managed to provide a memorable fight. The same can’t be said for her daughters though. After effortlessly stalking Ethan throughout the castle, being invulnerable to all kinds of damage and seemingly being unkillable, they were undone by…a gust of cold wind? It’s like killing if the T-1000 was killed after being frozen and didn’t reassemble itself (but on three separate occasions so you got the point).

Not every story can have the best ending but some games have seemingly gone out of their way to have the absolute worst.

With so many great stories told throughout the year, it seemed a given that some would fall flat. But then there are others that ended in horrendous fashion or didn’t really end at all, providing a non-conclusion for all of the hours suffered. Let’s take a look at the worst video game endings this year. Major spoilers follow so be warned.

Balan Wonderworld

When most of the context for your game’s story is explained in a separate, near-200 page book, there are bound to be problems. But Balan Wonderworld’s ending is just so many kinds of bullshit that it’s actually hilarious. Lance is defeated and subsequently dragged off by the Negati. Balan reveals himself to be a similar being to Lance and…nothing more? What was his relation to Lance, aside from their names sounding like Balance when combined together?

As for Leo, he finally fulfills his dream of being able to dance while Emma realizes that her servants were actually planning a birthday party (as opposed to gossiping rudely). What the point of it all was – the Tims, Balan’s theater and the truth behind Balan and Lance – is never revealed. Good riddance.

Despite the hype and marketing, some games just weren't as lucrative as others. Let's take a look at eight that struggled in sales.

2021 was a year of highs and lows, of highly anticipated games being delayed and big names having troubled releases. Many titles like Biomutant may have done well in sales despite poor launches, recouping development costs in the process, while better games fell by the wayside, performing less admirably than we would have liked. Of course, you also have the outright terrible games that simply bombed. Let’s take a look at some of the most commercially underwhelming titles of this year, from the clear-cut flops to the more middling reactions.

Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance

Much has been said about Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance, from its dull combat and story to the multitude of bugs. Even if it didn’t have a huge marketing push leading up to release, it was receiving more than its fair share of hype (not to mention that the Dark Alliance and Dungeons and Dragons names had recognition). Predictably though, its sales were nothing to write home about. It debuted in 23rd place on Gfk Chart-Track’s UK boxed charts but didn’t even receive a mention in The NPD Group’s June 2021 report, failing to even crack the top 20. Whatever deal was made for its Xbox Game Pass release may have helped recoup some revenue. But the sheer lack of sales data from publisher Wizards of the Coast seemingly points to it wanting to forget about this disaster as much as everyone else did.

No information are given on what the IPs in question are, but Suda 51 describes a desire to develop games they can fully own.

After many years, the saga of Travis Touchdown (at least as told by Suda 51 and his Grasshopper Manufacture), came to an end with No More Heroes 3. The game lets the assassin go out on an epic, cosmic-infused adventure that’s largely been well-received. The question now is what is next for Suda 51 and his studio, and looks like a lot of things are already in motion.

In an extensive interview with IGN Japan, which you can see in full below, Suda spoke about the studio and its future. Here he revealed that Grasshopper had 5 games in some form of production. While he offered no details on what those IPs are, he said he did look at Grasshopper as primarily an action studio, but did mention that some of these games might have adventure game elements. He said that over the next 10 years or so, he hopes to develop new and original IPs that the company can fully own, since most of the titles they are most well known for are not actually owned by them. For instance, No More Heroes is actually owned by Japanese publisher Marvelous and while they did lend the IP out to Grasshopper for a period of 5 years, the rights have now fully reverted back to them.

Grasshopper and Suda have largely worked on smaller scale titles, so it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with in the future. Maybe Marvel will hear about Suda’s burning desire to do a Deadpool game. The future seems to be wide open. The latest game from both Suda 51 and Grasshopper is No More Heroes 3, which is available now.
