His next game is called 0x10c.

Minecraft was a huge success, much bigger than Notch, the creator of the game, imagined. It’s also very hard to follow up to it since Minecraft has become something of a cultural phenomena selling 20 million copies on a lot of platforms.

He feels that he cannot replicate that same success with his next game and faces pressure.

“I’m starting to feel writer’s block as a result. I’m not sure if it’s pressure to repeat – actually, it is the pressure to repeat,” he told The New York Times.

“With Minecraft it was just easier, because nobody knew who I was. Now I post a new idea and millions of people scrutinize it. There’s a conflict between the joy of being able to do whatever I want and the remarkable pressure of a watching world. I don’t know how to switch it off.”

Markus Persson or Notch as he is known in the gaming world has become the second most influential person in the world, as voted by the readers of Time Magazine. Egypt’s president Mohamed Morsi was the no. 1 guy.

The final 100 list selected by editors will be revealed on Thursday 18th April. Notch made Minecraft, a game that has sold 20 million copies on PC, Xbox 360 and iOS platforms.

He is also the only game creator in the list which is a surprise but considering he has created something that very few people can do, the spot is a well deserved one.

The list also includes Psy and Jackie Chan who have been voted higher than US president Barack Obama. These polls usually don’t mean a lot but Time is an influential magazine.

You can check out the poll here. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Notch had a lot to say on Twitter about EA, and what prompted this outburst? Apparently, EA has released an Indie bundle on Steam, which are filled with games that, according to Notch, cannot be classified as Indie in the first place.

I mean, you can’t blame EA for not knowing what are Indie games, but seeing such an outburst from Notch is indeed a little unsettling.

“EA releases an ‘indie bundle’? That’s not how that works, EA,” he said.

“Stop attempting to ruin everything, you bunch of cynical bastards.

“I don’t even call Mojang indie any more. Vlambeer is indie. Polytron is indie. Stephen, Ed, Terry, Derek, Tommy and Chris are indie. Indies are saving gaming. EA is methodically destroying it.”

He then, attempted to explain people that his outburst was against EA and he had no issue with content creators who developed amazing games like Shank — which is featured in the EA Indie Bundle.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Alas, his sales pitches previously fell on deaf ears. I say previously as Minecraft creator and indie millionaire Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has caught wind of Scahfer’s will and tweeted “Let’s make Psychonauts 2 happen” at him, following up with “;D Also, I’m serious.” Double Fine, Schafer’s studio, issued this statement: “Tim and Markus are talking. Who knows what might happen?”

Notch has been tweeting about his exchanges with Schafer, but added: “Please don’t get your hopes too high yet. Everything is extremely vague!”

Chalk one up for the little guy. Mojang has won an interim injunction against Bethesda and can use the name “scrolls” in their game. Of course, it is temporary and Bethesda can appeal the injunction but for now, Notch is the winner and he seems pretty happy about it.

In case, you don’t know what an interim injunction is, read the description below.

Temporary injunction n. a court order prohibiting an action by a party to a lawsuit until there has been a trial or other court action. A temporary injunction differs from a “temporary restraining order” which is a short-term, stop-gap injunction issued pending a hearing, at which time a temporary injunction may be ordered to be in force until trial.

The purpose of a temporary injunction is to maintain the status quo and prevent irreparable damage or change before the legal questions are determined.

Mojang-Zenimax saga has reached the court now. What seems to be a simple problem has escalated into much more. Who would have believed that the word ‘Scrolls’ will cause so much troubles to Mojang.

Notch, co-founder of Mojang, reveals how he tried to negotiate with Zenimax and his efforts were futile.

“Our lawyers said to Zenimax that we didn’t agree there was an infringement, but that we’d be willing to find a solution,” he said.

“We offered several different solutions, like us not getting the trademark, and us not using the word ‘Scrolls’ in its raw form, but as part of a longer title. ZeniMax repeatedly refused, demanding we stop using the word ‘Scrolls’.”

It seems he really had an uphill task convincing Zenimax lawyers. Bethesda VP, Pete Hines chimed in as well and revealed his side of the story.

“This is a business matter based on how trademark law works and it will continue to be dealt with by lawyers who understand it, not by me or our developers,” he said.

“Nobody here enjoys being forced into this. Hopefully it will all be resolved soon.”

We hope the Mojang-Zenimax issue is resolved soon as well. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
