Black Ops 2: Treyarch Penalizing Users For High Speed Internet, Nuketown 2025 Will Be Coming Back

After it released, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been with a lot of criticism. Of course, Activision shouldn’t care after making it rain ($1 billion in 15 days, playa’) but at least they’re making some efforts to fix some player complaints. One of those was regarding the absence of Nuketown 2025 after it was available as a pre-order map for double XP points. Because, you know, it’s your bonus and now it’s kind of gone. What was the point in pre-ordering then?

Thankfully, as game design director David Vonderhaar announced on Twitter recently, Nuketown 2025 would indeed be returning to Black Ops 2 multiplayer. When a fan asked Vonderhaar if the map would return to regular rotation, he replied, “Eventually, yes”. Of course, when that will happen is another matter altogether.

Much like RealGamerNewz’s report on Treyarch de-ranking certain Black Ops 2 players in multiplayer. Was it because they were hacking or using exploits? Probably taking advantage of a glitch in the Matrix? Nope – of all things, it was for having faster internet connections like ComCast’s Business Class Cable.

Can this be considered hacking, really? Remember the old days when the Dreamcast played host to Quake 3: Arena and some people were worried that a gamer could just invest in a keyboard and mouse and go to town on those wielding controllers? It feels like that. Punishing players for using the tools available to them is one thing. Punishing players for breaking the rules altogether is another.

Hopefully, Treyarch will get its act together soon before more complaints and problems sprout up.

If you pre-order now, you’ll also receive the Nuketown 2025 bonus map, along with access to a Double XP Opening Weekend from November 16th till 18th. Black Ops 2 is currently set for a November 13th release.

Black Ops II – Now With 70% More Futuristic Nuketown!

For those who hate the Call of Duty series but play it anyway, Activision has recently announced Nuketown 2025 as a pre-order incentive for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

As the sequel to the “most popular multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Black Ops”, Nuketown 2025 will be immediately available to those who pre-order the game when it hits on November 13th for every major console.

Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia stated:

Multiplayer fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops LOVE Nuketown. Flat out, Nuketown was a blast to play before, and we’re excited about the reimagined Nuketown 2025 in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We can’t wait to play with everyone come this November.

For those who don’t pre-order, Nuketown 2025 will still be available as a downloadable map at launch but not for free. It’s incentive enough to re-enter the world of Black Ops, but honestly? The numbers, Mason. We want more of the numbers!

Revamped Nuketown coming to Black Ops II

One of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ most popular multiplayer maps, Nuketown, will be making a swift return to Black Ops II.

According to Irish retailer Xtravision, the map has been refurbished with a fresh new futuristic look, also being renamed Nuketown 2025 -I see what they did there- and is part of a ‘limited edition’ offering set to be ‘the biggest incentive in Call of Duty history’, a bold statement for certain.

At the moment, Nuketown 2025 looks set to be a pre-order bonus from GAME, with other retailers forthcoming.

Microsoft also announced that all pre-order downloadable content will be exclusive to the Xbox 360, so it’s unclear wether this includes Nuketown 2025 or not.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is hitting our disk drives on 13 November on Xbox 360, Playsation 3, PC and Wii U.
