AMD Omega Catalyst Driver Update Information Leaked Early

AMD, the developers of computer hardware that is both powerful and affordable has plans to release a rather huge update for their AMD Drivers. The new GPU Driver is expected to bring them up to par with what you can expect from their opposition’s hardware and software. The Catalyst Omega driver update will, according to AMD, boost your performance by 19 % on high end cards, and 29 % on APU cards, which is actually quite a lot.

The news may have come a bit earlier than planned however. Despite originally being followed by images and more details about the update, AMD has now removed that information and we will update you again once we hear more about Omega. Updated features include Virtual Super Resolution which will upscale your game to 4K before downsampling it to your resolution, this is similar to Nvidia’s DSR and removes the need for anti aliasing.

There are literally dozens of improvements expected to come in this update driver as well as improved performance on crossfire rigs alongside bug fixes and tweaks. There’s no official date for when this is coming. But I would guess it’s coming soon.

Mass Effect 3 Possible “Omega” DLC Details on Disc (Spoilers)

Bioware announced that Mass Effect 3 would be getting one more DLC called Omega (along with the announcement of something brand new for the IP), but erstwhile fans think they may have found details about the mission itself in the game via text files.

Spoiler warning, of course. Aria, Overlord of orbiting station of outlaws Omega, tasks you with retaking it from Cerberus. Along the way you’ll meet Zaeed Massani, who’s with Cerberus, and may have to kill him depending on the outcome. The reward? A supply of Element Zero. The full plot summary below:

“Aria tells you that Omega is now under a blockade from Cerberus. Since a direct attack didn’t work, Cerberus is now trying to starve Omega into submission by blockading supply ships coming in through the regular Omega relay. The level’s appearance will change to reflect this – the Afterlife has gone quiet, the music is off, the flashing lights are gone, maybe a soup kitchen has taken over the dance floor. Aria requests that you steal into the blockade and board the command ship. Take down the blockade so Omega can be resupplied.

“As punishment for breaking the neutrality pact, Cerberus launches an attack against Omega. The enemy is attempting to destroy Omega’s shields, which will allow asteroids and meteors to smash into the station. You must repel the assault and ensure the shield remain operational.”
