As you explore Angela’s relationships with different town members, you can learn about their moods, bring up a history of actions, and influence them to make certain decisions. For example, Conny may decide to speak to Galya to find out what’s going on with her, look for Zeke after he responds to the news, or do something to comfort everyone.

There’s something very cathartic about Osmotic Studios’ Orwell: Ignorance is Strength, which allows players to comb through various transcripts, files and media to effectively spy on people in a 1984-esque regime. The second season of the acclaimed puzzle adventure had its third episode, Synthesis, release recently and serves as the effective finale. Ignorance is Strength focuses on Raban Vhart, a not-quite-loyal journalist as the player discovers the truth surrounding him. The key difference in this release is one’s ability to effectively manipulate truth, thus causing multiple different outcomes to take place.

With The Nation and Parges falling into civil unrest, players will need to alter the truth and reinforce ignorance. This time around, players will have the chance to “influence public opinion directly” which should be an interesting twist on the first game’s ethics.
