If you purchased Star Wars Battlefront on any platform but never got around to trying out the paid DLC, then this weekend will be your chance. The Outer Rim DLC will be available for free on PC, PS4 and Xbox One from May 13th to May 15th.

Along with Extraction Mode, you’ll be able to play as two new heroes in the form of Nien Nunb and Greedo across four new maps. The Hutt Contracts specific to Outer Rim will not be available though.

Star Wars Battlefront has quite a bit more content coming in – the next paid DLC is Bespin and will be out in June. The pack will likely feature maps from Lando Calrissian’s home turf in the clouds.

This also won’t be the last Battlefront title. EA recently announced that new Battlefront titles are in development which will feature content from the new movies. Thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments.

DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront received some new content this week with Outer Rim, its first paid expansion, along with a new update that added new weapons and features like Hutt Contracts. Unfortunately, the update also had a bug which would let you instantly level to the max cap of level 60.

The problem is that anyone who was affected by this bug would see their game crash after each round was completed. A new hotfix has reset the rank for players affected by the issue. Speaking on the forums, DICE’s community manager said, “We apologize for any inconvenience but this step is necessary so that you can properly gain levels again and avoid crashes at the end of rounds.”

The Outer Rim is currently available for Season Pass owners. It will be available for general consumers on April 5th with other add-ons like Bespin and Death Star out later this year. The final expansion will release in early 2017.

EA and DICE have announced that the first paid DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, namely Outer Rim, will be releasing on March 22nd. A new trailer has been released to showcase gameplay for the same which you can check out below.

Along with four new maps set in Sullust and Tatooine, Outer Rim will also include two new weapons, two playable characters and a bunch of new Star Cards to play around with. A free update will also be available along with the DLC which adds an increased level cap, Spectator Mode, more new weapons and Hutt Contracts. There’s quite a bit to do if you’re a fan of the game so watch out for more in the coming few days.

Star Wars Battlefront is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Two more paid DLC packs – Bespin and Death Star – are out this year with the final pack releasing in early 2017.

DICE has finally announced some new information on Outer Rim, the first paid expansion for Star Wars Battelfront.

The Outer Rim will bring two new playable characters from the classic film franchise, namely Greedo and Nien Nunb, and new maps like Sullust and Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine. You’ll even be able to battle near his sail barge, albeit in the garage.

The DLC will also include a new multiplayer mode with Extraction where Rebels will need to extract shipments of resources. Obviously the Empire will try to stop them.

New weapons with the expansion will include the Relby V-10 rifle and a DT-12 blaster pistol. Equipment will include a Scatter Gun and Dioxis Grenade along with Adrenaline Stim as a new Star Card.
