Another movie, another movie-licensed video-game trailer and this time it’s Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim is a film about giant monsters and robots fighting each other while causing chaos and horror to humanity on earth. While the movie seems to be receiving incredible reviews, the video-game portion looks a tad disappointing judging from what we’ve seen in the trailer and rather underwhelming. However, this is not a real surprise since the majority of movie-licensed games tend to suck for the most part.

Pacific Rim: The Videogame will be coming on July 12th for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.

Pacific Rim – Video Game Incoming

According to an Australian Classification Board website, Pacific Rim has been listed as a video game for the movie tie in. The developer behind Pacific Rim is Yuke’s. Yuke’s was responsible for previous titles such as the WWE series, Pacific Rim will be an M-Rated title for themes and violence according to the listing.

It’s also safe to assume that the game will not be released at retail stores; instead it will be a downloadable digital title. The game will be released on June 12th 2013 for multiple platforms.

Pacific Rim the movie is out from July 12th, 2013.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim has GLaDOS

Pacific Rim is a movie made by Guillermo del Toro, yes the same guy who made Hellboy, and whose recent game Insane was cancelled by THQ.

His film is about giant man-made machines taking on ancient monsters who have come from the sea, so it’s basically like war of the titans but a bit more awesome than that.

GLaDOS seems to help the man-made machines but who knows she can even turn on them, but from the trailer they have released you can see that she helps the humans.

Her voice actress is Ellen McLain who speaks through a special filter to achieve GLaDOS’ voice. But since the voice and everything belongs to Valve since the character is their from their IP Portal, del Toro has already taken permission from the company to include her voice in his movie.

He is a fan of Portal, and looks like Valve agreed that this would give GLaDOS more exposure. Check out the trailer below.
