Speaking to The Washington Post, community director Brian Jarrard said that, “We will have some content that is inspired by the show that will be coming out in the game a little bit further down the road. The hope is that we see a lot more cross-pollination. ‘You like the show? Check out the game, by the way, it’s free to play’.”

Currently, 343 Industries is looking “threads and nods we can bring into Halo Infinite because it is a service, and we’ll have the ability to shape and influence experiences and content over time, even though they are technically different universes and timelines. I do think that you’ll see some eventual nods back and forth between the two … to look at ways to pull the show in fun ways.” Perhaps we’ll see some of this content somewhere down the line in Season 2 or with Season 3’s launch? Time will tell.

The Paramount+ series premiered on March 24th with a 30-day free trial for the service available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It takes place in the Silver timeline, which is completely separate from the main canon. Master Chief is still the protagonist though and mainstays like Dr. Catherine Halsey and Cortana are also present.

Through a post on Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter, the company announced that a third Sonic the Hedgehog movie is currently in the works with Paramount. CEO of Sega Corporation, Haruki Satomi, also announced that a live action series based on the character Knuckles, who is set to debut in the upcoming movie sequel, is set to premiere on Paramount+ in 2023, with Idris Elba reprising his role from the movie.

Satomi also talked about the future of the franchise, saying that 2022 is shaping up to be a significant year for it, with the second film coming out in April and Sonic Frontiers coming out this holiday, adding that Sega looks forward to continuing to bring memorable moments and experiences to fans.

Announced at the Viacom CBS Investor Day presentation, Paramount announced that the Halo live action series has been renewed for a second season. Additionally, David Wiener of Brave New World and Homecoming will be joining the second season as showrunner.

As of this moment, those are the only few details Viacom CBS has shared publicly, as no potential release date for a second season was revealed. Tanya Giles, the chief programming officer of Paramount+ says this (via IGN): “Halo is an expansive, world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re thrilled to give fans a second season to look forward to before we launch the series next month. Halo will deliver a thrill-ride for fans of the game and non-gamers alike, as it ties together stunning visuals with a deeper look at the personal stories behind these iconic characters.”

Set in a separate canon of its own, the Halo live action series will follow the war between UNSC and the alien collective known as the Covenant, which should be familiar to series fans, to say the very least.

Along with several tropes like the Energy Sword, Plasma Pistol and Warthog, the most notable part of the trailer is Cortana. Played by Jen Taylor, she features the same cadence as the video games (which is hardly surprising, considering she’s voiced the character since the Halo: Combat Evolved days). Besides Cortana, Chief is joined by several other Spartans.

The plot of the TV series revolves around the UNSC fighting back against Covenant invasion by using the Spartans. However, Master Chief seems to stumble upon something which leads to proof of Halo’s existence. It may seem similar to the video games but the Silver timeline is noted to be separate from the main canon. We’ll see how it turns out in the coming months so stay tuned.

Set in the 26th century with humanity at war with the Covenant, the series seemingly follows the rise of the Spartans who could turn the tide. The cast includes the likes of Jen Taylor, Pablo Schreiber (who plays Master Chief), Shabana Azmi and many more. Its budget is estimated to be around $200 million – the question now is whether it lives up to the hype.

In the meantime, Halo Infinite is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It’s also available on Xbox Game Pass with the multiplayer being free to play.
