Paradox Interactive is indicating that the game will be re-revealed at PAX West, asking fans to keep an eye on the event in a recent tweet, where it promises “many surprises and reveals”. Significantly, earlier this year, Paradox confirmed that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 would be re-revealed in September. PAX West is set for September 1-4.

What’s more, it seems like the game could launch not long after its PAX West unveiling. As spotted by @GamerTrader1 on Twitter, the online store of distributor Plaion (which will be distribution the game’s physical copies in some European regions) has updated its listing for the game, and now mentions an October 27 launch date (we recently saw something similar with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2), while the listing also showcases a batch of new screenshots.

In November last year, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester stated there was a good chance Bloodlines 2 could launch sometime in 2023.

It’s currently unknown who took over development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 after Hardsuit Labs was taken off the project, but the publisher has previously said that the project is “in good hands.”

Gamescom week is over, but that doesn’t mean the excitement ends too. Soon, PAX West will be upon us, and already, we’ve got some exciting stuff lined up to look forward to, such as a gameplay stream for CD Prokekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. Meanwhile, Square Enix have also confirmed their own presence at the show, while also detailing the games they’ll be bringing with them.

Leading the pack, as you’d expect, is Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which will be the centre of attraction at Square Enix’s booth, which will display a recreation of Midgar and the Mako reactor we all know and remember. Gameplay demos for the remake will, of course, also be available. Meanwhile, other Final Fantasy titles will be represented as well, such as the recently released MMO expansion, Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers, and the upcoming Final Fantasy 8 Remastered.

Meanwhile, Square Enix will also hold two panels for Life is Strange, and one for Shadowbringers. Other games being brought to PAX West by the publisher include Oninaki, Trials of Mana, Opera Omnia, Kingdom Hearts Union X(Cross), and Brave Exvius.

Gearbox Software could be ready to announce a new Homeworld title, judging by a recent tweet. The developer invited fans to celebrate 20 years of the space strategy series on August 30th during its Main Theater Show at PAX West. It noted that there would be a “special announcement” at 1:30 PM PT.

Homeworld 3 or some such sequel wouldn’t be the strangest thing. The developer acquired the IP in 2013 and released remasters of Homeworld 1 and 2. It then released Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, a prequel that brought the action down to ground level for the first time. Of course, it’s also possible that the company decides to update Homeworld: Cataclysm, an expansion which wasn’t remastered with the rest.

PAX West will take place from August 30th to September 2nd. Gearbox will also be showcasing more information on Borderlands 3 prior to release. We’ll also learn more about the release of Risk of Rain 2 for the Nintendo Switch so stay tuned.

BioWare has been doing its bit to market Anthem as a shared world shooter full of lore and interesting places to visit. The entire map is open from the start, and players at lower levels can join their friends and take advantage of scaling, contributing to the fight without weighing everyone else down. However, many want to know about the solo experience in Anthem.

In a mid-Summer update blog post, BioWare general manager Casey Hudson sought to clarify the developer’s approach with the story-telling once more. Hudson sought to answer how player agency could be a thing when you’re experiencing a living adventure with friends.

“In my opinion, our solution to this design challenge is one of the most innovative things about Anthem,” he explained. “We talked briefly at EA PLAY about how the solution is called ‘Our World, My Story.’ In the dynamic open world, everything is experienced in real-time by all Anthem players – day/night, weather, and world-scale events that shape the ongoing narrative of the setting.

“This is ‘our world,’ which we share as a player community. Then when you return to Fort Tarsis, that’s actually a single-player experience, and it’s where you spend time developing relationships, making choices, and seeing consequences. That’s the ‘my story’ part.”

It doesn’t sound all that different from Guild Wars 2, where various events and world bosses would cycle through the zones. The player’s story, however, was unique, and could be progressed without worrying too much about the living world aspect.

Regardless, BioWare knows there will be more questions. That’s why it will talk about “our world, my story” at a PAX West panel. The Seattle expo takes place from August 31st to September 3rd, and fans can look forward to hearing answers for “other big questions you’ve had about Anthem.”

Anthem is releasing on February 22nd 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
