Cliff Bleszinski’s newest game is now out. Lawbreakers takes a lot of cues from Blizzard’s Overwatch structurally, but in terms of aesthetics and actual gameplay, it has the kind of sensibilities you expect from a Cliffy B game.

STUCK ON MAP LOADING

If you are stuck on the map loading screen, the only fix is to exit the game, exit Steam, and then wait a while to restart the game. Note that you must wait a while before you restart the game- starting it too son after quitting basically puts you back in trying to load the game that was unable to load and got you stuck to begin with.

NGS FAILED TO INITIALIZE PROPERLY

To resolve this issue, run Steam (and the game) as an Administrator.

MAIN MENU SCREEN ISSUES

Change the native language of the game from ‘native’ to ‘eng’ on the bottom of the menu.

UNABLE TO CHANGE RESOLUTION

The only fix to this is to change the resolution at which your computer itself renders for now.

FREEZING

This appears to happen if you excessively Alt-Tab. The solution to this would be to… well, to not Alt-Tab. You can also look into turning off V-Sync, or running the game in Windowed Mode, as a fix.

Tekken 7 is finally out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC- with the latter platform getting it for the very first time. Given that, then, it is surprising just how good the PC port of Tekken 7 really is. There’s very little of the faff that surrounds PC versions of big multiplatform games, especially Japanese games. It’s a good version of a good game.

That said, there definitely are some issues. Nothing too major or game breaking, but they are there. Should you happen to run into them, we will help you out with this guide, where we have some basic remedies for some of the problems people have reported running into while playing this game.

CHANGING GAME LANGUAGE

FILM GRAIN EFFECT

• Paste r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0 into the file
• Save and exit
• Boot up the game. The film grain should be gone now.

It doesn’t suffer from nearly as many issues as the PC version of Dishonored 2 did, and is generally well optimized, with very little in the way of problems that impede your enjoyment. Still, given how complex and multilayered this game is, and coupled with the sheer number of permutations and combinations there are for PC builds, you can still run into issues. That’s where we come in- in this guide, we walk you through some of the most common PC errors and fixes for Prey.

Mass Effect Andromeda is out now, at last- but it’s come out as one of the buggiest AAA game releases in a very long time, and certainly Bioware’s buggiest game release ever. There’s a lot of problems trying to get this game to run- and that’s before we even consider the PC version.

Once that’s thrown into the mix, you realize that you are running into all sorts of problems. Mass Effect Andromeda on PC has a whole lot of errors and glitches that you can run into. Fortunately, we’re here to help you sort them out. But first, the specs:

Resident Evil 7 is available now, at last- the new game is a return to form for the franchise, and a AAA realization of the kind of first person horror games that we have seen populating the indie game space a whole lot over the last few years, especially on PC. In other words, this is a game that feels right at home on PC- and the good thing is, the PC version of the game is generally pretty damn neat, too.

There are, of course, some problems- given just how many configurations there are for a PC build, that makes complete and total sense. That said, that isn’t much comfort to you if you happen to run into one of these issues. Thankfully, if that happens, we’ve got you covered. Watch Dogs 2 is a surprisingly competent PC port- actually given how horrific Ubisoft’s history is with PC ports, it’s a surprise this one came out as well as it did. Then again, maybe that makes sense- Ubisoft did delay it by a bit, claiming that they would take the extra time to optimize the game for PC. Well, they seem to have done that, and Watch Dogs 2‘s PC version largely appears to have come out for the better from that.

Dishonored 2 is a right old mess on PC- it’s poorly optimized, with crashes, bugs, glitches, frame rate drops, and more, all over the place. bethesda and Arkane have said that they are looking into the errors, and that there will be a patch issued to address these issues soon, which is great, because this is genuinely a fun game that deserves better than this.

But while we wait for the patch, I suppose, we need to try and get this game to work the best we can. That’s what we do in this guide- we’ve tried to list some common fixes for the game on PC that hopefully work for you too.

Okay, Dishonored 2‘s multitude of problems can generally be broken down to the game being poorly optimized and not working as it should. Now, there’s no targeted fix for a lot of these problems, but see if doing the following things helps you out:

• Set Dishonored 2‘s priority to High in the Task Manager (apparently the game has a bug that almost always prevents this from being done)

• Disconnect from the internet
• Lower the settings on the game:
  • Try the Auto presets, which should lower visual quality but maintain frame rate
  • Lower texture details
  • De-activate TXAA anti aliasing

INPUT LAG

• Go to game settings, turn off Mouse Smoothness

GAME CRASHES

Windows 7 players are reporting random crashes for the game. To fix this:

• Update your Windows with Windows6.1-KB2670838 patch

FRAME RATE DROPS AND STUTTERING

• For Nvidia users only, open the Nvidia Control Panel, open the profile for Dishonored 2, and change “Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames” to 1. Also turn off Nvidia HBAO+.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare‘s PC release is generally pretty stable and error free. But given the sheer variety of configurations available out there, with different hardware and software and settings, things are bound to get a bit messy sometimes.

You could find the game misbehaving or just generally giving you a hard time and getting in the way of you actually enjoying it, such as it is. Thankfully, most of these errors are standard, and fairly easy to resolve. In this guide below, we run through some of the most common Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare errors on PC, and we walk you through some basic steps to resolve them.

Gears of War 4 is now out on Xbox One and PC, and unlike most previous Microsoft games on PC with their newest attempt, it’s actually a fairly good port that runs without much issues. But it is a high end PC game, and it is targeting a wide range of hardware, so there will naturally be some troubles and problems.

There’s not a whole lot in the way of errors this time- the few that there are are listed below with some suggested fixes, however, so you can try and address them as soon as possible, and get on with enjoying the game already.

Infinite Loading In Act 3, Chapter 5

A lot of players on PC and Xbox One are reporting that the game runs into an infinite loading loop in Chapter 5 of Act 3 of the game’s campaign, preventing further progress. Thankfully, this problem is easy to sidestep:

• Do not build the player-mounted Turret fortification during this chapter
• If you have already done so, restart the chapter from the beginning, and do not build the fortification this time

A proper fix for the issue is being developed in the meantime.

Windows Store Download Error 80070490

If you are running into this error in the Windows Store while trying to run the game, try the following steps:

• Press Windows+R, and type in regedit.
• Go to the following file:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\PackageVolumes
• Right click. Go to DefaultVolumeKey, and modify it to 1.
• Restart your download

Performance Issues

Gears of War 4 does not support Crossfire/SLI- however, even with a single GPU setup, players might find the performance of the game dropping. In such a case, The Coalition recommends navigating to the Nvidia Control Panel, and disabling SLI. Doing so should address the performance issues and framerate drops you may be suffering.

Lack of Textures

This issue manifests on PCs running the game at the lowest spec. If this occurs, restart the game.

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of Gears of War 4.
