From Sherlock Holmes: The Detective’s Daughter to another supernatural mystery, Frogwares certainly has its work cut out for it with The Sinking City. Appearing today at the PC Gaming Show 2018, the game’s newest cinematic trailer offers a taste at the kind of mood players can expect. As you’d expect with Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos, it’s anything but sunshine and positive thoughts.

The Sinking City is open world but there are no quest markers or checklists. There are even monsters but that’s not the main goal. The goal is to investigate one’s surroundings, piecing together the various horrors of 1920s America. Self-defense will be necessary on occasion but for the most part, you’re a detective who has to understand what’s going on.

Currently there’s no release date for the game but it was slated to release in 2018. Could it possibly be delayed? Regardless, The Sinking City does look intriguing and is in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Experience the industrial revolution and build some truly awesome cities.

We almost forgot about Ubisoft BlueByte’s Anno 1800, the latest in a long line of city builder/strategy titles that was pegged to release this year. The PC Gaming Show saw the debut of the first trailer and though it’s little more than a run-through of the in-game cities, it looks quite stunning. Check it out below.

Studio executive producer Burkhard Ratheiser and community developer Bastian Thun were also on hand to talk about the setting which features industrial revolutions and how they will inform the gameplay. Furthermore, they discussed Anno Union, which saw players provide their feedback to the developer and thus alter the late game. Along with sandbox and multiplayer modes, Anno 1800 will also have a story mode.

Anno hasn’t really had a chance to go back to the past. Recent iterations were primarily futuristic in scope. However, Anno 1800 will change that and allow players to experience a pivotal time in history when it releases on PC this year. For more information on the Anno Union, head here.

Despite Telltale Games delivering on the story-telling front in The Walking Dead (more or less), a truly fun co-op shooter has been wanting. Fortunately, we’ll finally be getting it this year as Overkill’s The Walking Dead is confirmed to launch on November 6th. The first gameplay trailer also debuted at the PC Gaming Show 2018 – check it out below.

Set in Georgetown following the zombie apocalypse, the first person shooter focuses on four survivors. Each have their own motivations and backstories but also possess different abilities that are essential for survival. Learning to balance those special abilities, develop skill trees and more will be essential to survival.

Along with shooting up and sneaking by zombies, players will have to build a camp and keep it well-maintained. As the story progresses, more information about the story and how to effectively escape the terrors of Washington D.C. will be revealed.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is heading to Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Yakuza 0 is currently available to preorder on Steam.

Sega’s titles made a surprising appearance at the PC Gaming Show as Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami were confirmed for PC release in 2018. This will mark the first time that the series has come to PC, joining the likes of recent Sega ports like Bayonetta, Vanquish, Okami. Yakuza 0 can be pre-ordered today on Steam.

However, that’s not all. Valkyria Chronicles 4 will also be coming to PC. Shining Resonance: Refrain will perhaps beat all these titles to market when it releases for PC on July 10th. Furthermore, we were reminded of Shenmue 1 and 2 HD heading being PC-bound later this year.

With the Yakuza series having been so embedded on PlayStation hardware, what graphical options could the PC ports open up? Will titles like Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life also be ported? Will we see the remasters of Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 somewhere down the line? It’s currently unknown but PC players will finally get a chance to try out the award winning franchise.

The next update, due this Summer, brings new crossbows into the fray.

Though Hunt: Showdown is still in Steam Early Access for PC and has plenty of issues to iron out, Crytek is still adding plenty of new content and updates. At the PC Gaming Show 2018, the latest update was revealed in a new trailer. It contains a new monster called The Water Devil who fights with tentacles and can be quite the disgusting beast. Check it out below at your own discretion.

Among the new weapons are the vintage crossbow, throwing knives (which can be used in one match only but retrieved after throwing), the hand crossbow (more of a pistol and good for up close shooting) and sticky bombs.

All of these weapons should mix up the hunts even further but be careful to not draw too much attention to yourself, lest you become the hunted. The latest update for Hunt: Showdown will be out later this Summer. Check out the game on Steam Early Access right now.

Umbra Excalibur won't be long for release now.

Digital Extremes had a brief reveal for Warframe’s The Sacrifice, a new cinematic quest, at the PC Gaming Show 2018. During the teaser, we saw Excalibur Umbra and Ballas, the villain that’s been haunting the Tenno for some time. While the newest video isn’t overtly long, the developer confirmed that The Sacrifice will be going live this week for PC.

While it isn’t confirmed how players will earn Umbra Excalibur or even what twists The Sacrifice will bring (what will players have to sacrifice?), Digital Extremes has a pretty solid reputation for its quests. The Second Dream, The War Within and Apostasy Prologue all brought major changes to the free to play title and helped build the lore.

On top of that, new Frames, weapons, activities and much more were brought to players completely free of charge. Warframe’s The Sacrifice doesn’t have an exact release date but seeing it on Thursday or Friday seems to be most likely. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

400 Battle Royale title gets a brand new trailer as official site goes live.

Automaton’s Mavericks: Proving Grounds is one of the more ambitious Battle Royale titles in development, featuring 400 players competing in an enormous world for survival. The newest trailer at the PC Gaming Show 2018 showcases some of the action, and it looks pretty fast-paced. Check it out below.

As you’ll notice, it’s possible to encounter wildfire in the forest while battling other enemies. That wildfire can spread and the world itself as described as “living and breathing”. Wildlife will react to your presence and depending on how players react with the environment, you’ll be able to track them down more effectively.

Mavericks: Proving Grounds won’t just have 400 players – there are plans to have 1000 players in five man squads across a 16×16 km map.
Build factories, achieve perfect automation and serve the great machine.

Coffee Stain Studios may be better known for its absurd Goat Simulator franchise but it revealed a new IP recently – Satisfactory. The first gameplay trailer debuted at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2018 and as the trailer indicates, it’s all about building factories.

The premise is about creating a large machine but that requires tons of different parts. Players will start with smaller machines, gathering different materials, cutting down trees and eventually draining the planet of its precious resources. There are plenty of games that allow players to create enormous factories that are fully automated (Factorio comes to mind) but Satisfactory is in first person.

Why? Because the developer wants to give a more personal touch to the building. The player will be the one exploring, crossing different environments and biomes across 30 square kilometers. Multiplayer is also supported as up to four players can co-op together. A closed alpha is planned for the coming months so stay tuned for more information on a release date.

An unannounced publisher and other companies will also be attending.

As the road to E3 2018 starts heating up, more details are coming about the content of different publisher’s shows. PC Gamer’s PC Gaming Show 2018 will take place on June 11th at 3 PM PDT and already has some very interesting studios presenting content.

More companies will be present including an unnamed publisher. For now though, the list includes the following developers and publishers:

Sega

Square Enix

Crytek (Likely a Hunt: Showdown related announcement)

Double Fine

SkyDance Media

Digital Extremes (Warframe’s next open world on Venus could be showcased here)

Raw Fury

Klei (Griftlands finally being dated? One can only hope)

Modern StoryTeller

tinyBuild

Cloud Imperium Games (Updates on Star Citizen and Squadron 42 could be coming)

Starbreeze (More information on Overkill’s The Walking Dead, most likely)

505 Games

The PC Gaming Show has always had a stronger bent towards PC gaming (as the name indicates). To that end, multiplatform games have seen announcements at the show as well. One particular game we’re look out for is Relic Entertainment’s Age of Empire 4, a long-awaited sequel to Microsoft’s vaunted Age of Empires series. To watch the PC Gaming Show when it goes live, stay tuned to Twitch and other social media channels.
