Konami has released details of its eagerly-awaited version of PES 2011 3D for the new Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming platform.

“Designed specifically for the 3D-enabled unit, PES 2011 3D for Nintendo 3DS offers an immersive take on the football genre, mixing the PES series’ acclaimed level of control and realism, with the added dimensions the 3DS allows. Players can select from 60 National and 170 club sides, and lead them to glory within a range of challenging tournaments and leagues.

Making stunning use of the 3D views the new system affords, PES 2011 3D puts you at the heart of every pass, through-ball and shot. A stunning active ‘Player’ camera centres on the user’s every movement, dynamically following the action. As such, PES 2011 3D offers an intense recreation of being a key part of a successful team, alongside the series’ esteemed stunning level of control.

Defence-splitting passes, lifted through-balls and blistering first-time strikes coupled with quick passing, off-the-ball runs are all experienced at close hand, as the game’s realism is literally taken to another level thanks to the game’s incredible use of depth and distance perception. Using the 3D capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS, the camera views allow the user to visually ascertain how far away a team mate is, allowing for more instinctive long passes and dynamic movement.

The game’s stunning AI also ensures that players not only look identical to their real-life counterparts, but move and react like them too. PES 2011 3D also includes the UEFA Champions League™ option, allowing users to partake in the game’s greatest club competition, while the legendary Master League invites players to build a team from scratch and help them dominate both at a club and global level. It also enjoys full commentary of the in-game action, while wireless play allows two Nintendo 3DS users to compete against each other.

The new game also makes innovative use of the Nintendo 3DS system’s ‘Street Pass’ mode, wherein the handheld senses another user with a stored Master League team, and will compare data. The user with the stronger team will be deemed the winner, while reaching specific targets will also unlock new players and teams for use in the main game.”

We will keep you updated as more info comes our way. Stay tuned.

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH just announced that their recently released Soccer sim, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, more commonly called PES 2011, will be making its way to Windows Phone 7. The version has been created especially for the new range of mobiles.

Here’s some information on this port by Konami:

“PES 2011 focuses on the incredible realism and gameplay its console versions are famed for, and offers the most advanced team and player AI in a mobile game. The game gives the user total control over their selected team, offering passes, through-balls, neat inter-changes and blistering shots via a specially devised control system. The Windows Phone 7 version of the game also introduces the ‘true flow’ system, which allows users to determine the level of control they use, either using AI-supported controls, or opting to use on-screen buttons to mimic those of a conventional joypad controller.

As with its console counterparts, PES 2011 for Windows Phone 7 offers a wide range of competitions and tournaments, including the officially licensed UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League modes, while online connectivity is provided via online Leaderboards for the best players, and the ability to unlock Xbox LIVE achievements via the mobile game. PES 2011 also benefits from stunning visuals that bring the game to life. The players react just like their real-life counterparts, and stunning animation shows their skills to full effect – even down to their goal celebrations.”

“PES 2011 arrives on a new format, bringing its intense realism and stunning gameplay to a whole new audience,” commented Florian Stronk, Head of Network Business Development for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “PES gamers can now hone their skills while away from their system, while the true ethos of PES – skill, timing and beautiful football – can be enjoyed at any time, everywhere.”

Ron Pessner, General Manager, Microsoft also had something to say to this: “It is great to see best in class game franchises such as PES 2011 coming to Windows Phone 7, cementing the fact that it is fast becoming a leading gaming platform. Windows Phone 7 is a great platform for PES 2011 and I am looking forward to the game’s release.”

The Fifa game from EA and the PES game from Konami are the two soccer game franchises that have been going head to head for over a decade. In my opinion Fifa was always the favored game when it came to soccer games. This might change with the release of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2011. I mean between the past and present the two franchises could just boil down to the person as which game they favor more. This years release of PES has made some major improvements to the game, easily bringing it to par with the Fifa franchise. It still comes down to the individual as there are pros and cons for both games. You can pull off a 30 yard shot in PES 2011, unlike Fifa 2011 but the online in PES is still no match to Fifa online. It all comes down to you, but there is no denying that this years PES has made some vast improvements from their previous games.

Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) ’11 has a “total control” 360-degree movement system and power gauge, which offers an auto-assist to help as players that are not familiar with the previous games might take some getting used to. This system is great when it comes to giving you full control of a player, but if you don’t know what you are doing, you leave yourself out of position for the other team to take advantage of. In Fifa, you don’t have to worry about this but are restricted to controlling players. The AI in the game has improved a lot since last year and the game has also improved on its real time physics giving you different outcomes upon contact with players such as blocking, deflections and jostling.

The game is still riding on its “Engineered for Freedom” gameplay that other soccer games don’t have and can give hardcore players what they really want. While standard passing seem as smooth and functional as ever with its new system you also have the option to do manual passes while holding down the left trigger to make some intense moments in the game. This years version has made some vast improvements in the menus which seems like no big deal in words but when you compare to last years messy menu layout, it makes a big difference. You really have to stay on your toes as Defending and Attacking are no longer automated adding the “freedom” aspect Konami is rolling with.

The freedom you have in the game really adds to the realism of the game. While at times you might feel lost or not in control of the ball, after getting used to it, you can have intense games not seen in any other soccer game. During replays you can even see the players eyes following the ball as well as being able to see what went wrong during the replay. The graphics have vastly improved from the last game and the real time physics system make every scenario and replay unique. The player modules and likeness are much better in this year version. As far as the commentary goes, the people doing the commentary have been switched up a little but is still kind of boring and hasn’t really changed from the previous games.

You can customize so much in Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, including customizable feints that can be mapped to the right analog stick. You can also create your own logos and customize stadiums in detail. There are tons of unlockables in the game from silly ball replacements like a pillow or a giant piece of candy as well as head and hair replacements that are sure to give you a laugh. Retro sounds are also unlockable from older games that all add to a humor aspect of the game that doesn’t hurt it whatsoever. The complete downside if this is that none of these customizations can be brought online to share with other players.

Most modes return from last years version like UA for Champions and the South American Copa Libertadores tournament. You can enter the UEFA Super Cup competition and the UEFA Europa League. The biggest part to the game has to be the Master League and the Become a Legend mode. In the Become a Legend mode you can create a character and take them into a career to play with. Master League is extremely in depth between bringing your character into the mode, training and other aspects as well. Online Master League takes it even farther where you can win prize money which you can use to buy players or enter into tournaments. You can wager this money in a bunch of different type of pay out competitions that one of which is sure to suit you needs.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 has made some major changes from the last game and really giving itself its own style of soccer game. This is pretty big for the franchise, as I feel Fifa was always the favored one before PES 2011, now it seems to come down to what kind of gameplay do you like better. The game is also available on nearly every console including, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PC, Wii, PSP and iPhone with a demo out for most of those platforms. The title suits it well as, I don’t think your pro at soccer games until you have mastered PES 2011. There are less boundaries in this game letting really do exactly what you want rather than having a set choice of things to do. Anything can happen in PES 2011.

This game was reviewed on the Xbox 360.

Konami has officially announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, promising the most ‘radical revamp’ the series has ever undergone.

The football game, which will release for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PSP, Playstation 2 and PC this fall, will include reworked AI for defenders, and new player animations in the changes.

However the largest and most significant addition to this year’s PES will be the online version of the games coveted Master League. Konami said it will have, “players bidding against each other for the world’s best players, and attempting to build a squad that can compete with the best against online peers all over the globe”.

There are also official UEFA Champions League modes and Europa League, as well as the ability to play in the South American version of the Champions League- Copa Liberadores.

“It was time for PES to transform, and PES 2011 represents the most ambitious redesign in the series’ history,” said Jon Murphy, Pro Evo team leader in Europe.

“We’ve continued to work closely with the fans to pinpoint what it is about football that PES didn’t do. Total freedom was the priority and all-new animation a must. PES 2011 does both – indeed, they are directly linked to each other – and while the new game is recognizably PES at its heart, it is also the most radically improved version ever.”
