SCEA filed a new trademark for a Playview application, and unlike other Sony filed trademarks, Playview will be more than just a video game software.

Playview can be used as an online e-book store, receiving and reading text messages, and electronic publishing over the Internet, so even though this may sound like a Sony e-book reader, it’s not, because of the simple fact that they already have one of those.

Perhaps the new device will have something to do with the PSP2, or maybe even the rumored PSN+ service, but obviously nobody can say for sure, and as always, E3 is only days away.
