The Pokemon Press Conference yesterday was an eventful one. The Pokemon Company announced a couple of new Pokemon projects for mobile devices, as well as a new Detective Pikachu game for the Switch. On top of all that, they also announced Pokemon HOME, a new cloud-based service that will act as the hub for all Pokemon games across basically every device.

Pokemon HOME will allow you to trade with games across multiple Pokemon games on multiple devices. It’ll connect with Pokemon GO on mobile devices, with Pokemon Let’s Go and the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield on the Nintendo Switch, and with multiple Pokemon games on the 3DS through Pokemon Bank, allowing you to bring over all your Pokemon into a single space.

The app, launching for iOS and Android in 2020, will also allow you to trade with other people- with friends, with other users nearby, as well as with users across the globe.

Nintendo's servers stabilize and normal services resume.

Nintendo’s eShop was completely overwhelmed by the incredibly high volume of traffic that new 3DS and Wii U systems bought on Christmas caused. After nearly four days of downtime, the servers are back up, and the Nintendo eShop is now functioning normally, reports Kotaku.

To address the issues, Nintendo had basically instituted a series of rolling blackouts for the eShop around the world, throttling access to the storefront to manage server load. At this point, everything seems to be back to how it used to be.

Of special note is the fact that Pokemon Bank, the free Pokemon app that was speculated to be at least one of the reasons for the eShop outage, is now delayed and Nintendo has still not given it a release date, saying only that it will be made available ‘later.’ Considering that Pokemon Bank is basically necessary for anyone who wants to bring over their Pokemon from previous games into X and Y, let’s hope Nintendo gets that sorted out soon.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Yoshi's New Island, and Chibi Robo! Photo-Finder all detailed.

Today’s Nintendo Direct was a veritable gold mine of information on upcoming Nintendo games.

Among the new titles detailed was Retro’s upcoming Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Hitting Wii U in February, the game, which was just confirmed to have Cranky Kong as a playable character at VGX, was now also confirmed to have Funky Kong, now taking the place of Cranky and running the shop in game. Essentially, this means that the entire cast of the original Donkey Kong Country games will be in Tropical Freeze.

Nintendo also reiterated details on the upcoming Pokemon Bank and PokeTransfer apps, announcing that anyone who uses the app before Fall 2014 will get a free Celebi. Celebi is a super rare Pokemon almost impossible to get legitimately, so that is a pretty darn tempting gift.

Nintendo also showed off more of Yoshi’s New Island, which will be launching on 3DS this Spring, and confirmed that it ill be produced by Takashi Tezuka, the creative director of the original Yoshi’s Island for SNES.

Finally, they showed off the new Chibi Robo game. Called Photo-Finder, Chibi Robo will have to help start up a new museum this time. Players are given silhouettes of needed objects, then use the Nintendo 3DS camera to find matching objects, known as NostalJunk, in the real world. A demo will be hitting the eShop soon, with a January 9, 2014 release following.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more Nintendo info.
