The latest game in the series has been discovered to have less staying power than Black & White.

While the success of Pokémon X & Y in Japan – and around the world – is a thing to marvel at, Siliconera has uncovered data from Media Create, which brings us weekly sales figures on games in Japan, that indicates that the 3DS Pokemon release has less staying power than previous games Black & White.

While Pokemon Black & White saw a sales drop of 70 percent in its second week, Pokemon X & Y saw a decrease of 75 percent for the same. It debuted and sold roughly 4 million copies in its first two days, but sales for the game dropped to 473,000 in the second week for Japan. Yes, there’s only a 5 percent difference but this is more about lifetime sales, in which Pokemon Black & White ranks quite high.

Is it a significantly better game than Black & White? Check out our official review of Pokemon X & Y here for more info.

Now bring your hard-earned Pokemon over to X & Y.

In today’s Nintendo Direct, Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda revealed that the upcoming Pokemon X & Y would allow players to transfer Pokemon through the Cloud using the 3DS’s Wi-Fi capability.

Players can also now transfer Pokemon from Black & White and Black & White 2 to Pokemon X & Y using the Poke Transporter. This App allows you to store these Pokemon into a bank which can then be searched and filtered through on the cloud. Of course, you’ll need to purchase the app to be able to access the Bank, which allows you to store up to 3000 Pokemon at once.

This is good news for players who completed the Black & White games and don’t want to recapture all their old Pocket Monsters. Masuda also revealed that the classic starter Pokemon from Red and Blue would be returning, along with Mega Evolutions for the same, which you can learn more about here. He also revealed that the new Pokemon X & Y 3DS console designs would be arriving on September 27th. Check them out below.

Pokemon X & Y releases on October 12th.
