No other franchise has translated to mobile for Nintendo than the Pokemon series. The latest mobile title was Pokemon Masters, a game that took the spotlight off the monsters and put them on the many iconic trainers and other NPCs throughout the franchise’s storied history. While it hasn’t met the success of Pokemon GO, it’s not done too shabby for itself. Now we get one of the legends from the original in the newest update.

As announced via the trailer below, the one and only Professor Oak is now in the game. The professor is, of course, from the original Red/Blue release and this will be the first time he’ll be playable as a trainer. He’ll also be bringing the legendary Pokemon Mew with him. Check it out below.

Pokemon Masters is available now for all compatible iOS and Android mobile devices. Professor Oak and Mew are live as of today.

The newest Pokemon mobile title is raking it in.

Nintendo is going headfirst into mobile now, and their biggest franchise to make headway is the Pokemon IP. Already the franchise has seen several mobile entries, and if there’s any doubt that Pokemon is here to stay on mobile devices, Pokemon Masters is here to dispel it.

We already knew that the game had a lot of downloads in just a few days, but downloads don’t always equate to revenue. But in the case of Masters, it does. According to data collected from Sensor Tower, Pokemon Masters made a whooping $26 million in just one week. As you can see from the chart below, that’s only behind Pokemon GO, which was a brief worldwide phenomenon, but miles ahead of the other offerings. According to their data, the overwhelming majority of revenue came from Japan with 63% of revenue coming from the series’ homeland.

Pokemon Masters is available now to all compatible iOS and Android devices.

The trainer-focused mobile title has already been downloaded a ton.

While Nintendo is still finding itself on mobile in many ways with its key franchises, one of their IPs that’s transitioned well into the space is the Pokemon series. Already the series has seen several mobile entries, and the latest one goes to show how hungry users are for Pokemon on their mobile devices as Pokemon Masters has already gotten a lot of downloads.

The game released across all compatible mobile devices on August 29th. It’s already surpassed 10 million downloads since then announced DeNA and The Pokemon Company via press release. The game is unique in that, unlike other Pokemon titles, the game is more focused on collecting the various Trainers through the franchise’s storied history as opposed to the titular Pokemon. It’s an impressive number, no doubt, but it does have a ways to go to catch up with Pokemon GO‘s 1 billion downloads.

Pokemon Masters is available now for all compatible iOS and Android devices. If you’re curious about the game’s gameplay system before downloading, you can check through here.

Collect trainers and engage in 3v3 battles in DeNA's newest free to play title.

The latest Pokemon title for mobile devices is finally here with Pokemon Masters. Developed and published by DeNA, the title is available now for iOS and Android via the Apple store and Google Play Store. Unlike Pokemon GO, Pokemon Masters is all about the battles as players form teams of famous trainers to fight across the island Pasio.

Battles are 3v3 and each trainer carries a single Pokemon. These sync pairs are then taken through a number of battles to collect gym badges and ultimately achieve the title of Pokemon Masters League champion. Another big difference from prior Pokemon titles is that battles are real-time with a gauge slowly filling throughout fights.

Depending on how much move gauge is needed, Pokemon trainers can unleash different techniques during battles. Will it achieve the same level of success as Pokemon GO, especially given the focus on story and battling AI foes? Time will tell. In meantime, a new mainline series of Pokemon titles is out this November with Pokemon Sword and Shield on the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company has been taking their behemoth game franchise on the go with multiple different iterations of mobile titles based on the Pokemon IP. It started not that long ago with Pokemon GO (that’s still going strong), and has continued steady with other games and applications both released and planned. One of them is the Pokemon Masters battler, and we’ll be getting our hands on it next month.

The game will be a 3v3 battle game where you must get trainers to match certain Pokemon together to form devastating attacks. While there will a “soft launch” preview version of the game that will release in Singapore July 25th for the Android version, the official release will hit August. It will be a free-to-play game that has in-app purchases

Pokemon Masters will launch for all compatible iOS and Android devices on August 29th. You can pre-register for the game on both Apple and Google Play now.

A new Pokemon adventure comes to the mobile world this summer.

We reported earlier that several new Pokemon titles were coming to mobile soon, and today we got the first major details on one of them, Pokemon Masters. While Pokemon GO has been a major hit for the franchise for a good while, Masters promises something a little closer to the traditional experience this summer.

Developer DeNA gave a video presentation on the game which you can check out below. The game is a free to play mobile title and will feature 3 vs 3 battles as you play a group of trainers on an adventure in a new region in the Pokemon world, the island of Pasio. Each trainer will have their specific Pokemon, from all generations, and a big part of the battle system is syncing up those Pokemon for major attacks. The game will feature in-app purchases but it’s not clarified what those will be yet.

Pokemon Masters will release for both iOS and Android sometime this summer, and joins several other titles in Nintendo’s renewed push into mobile.

The Pokemon Company made a whole lot of Pokemon announcements at the Pokemon Press Conference yesterday. In addition to the Detective Pikachu game for the Nintendo Switch, they also made a couple of announcements for new mobile Pokemon games.

One of these is being made by DeNA, who’ve been teasing this project of late. Called Pokemon Masters, it will feature an all-stars cast of Pokemon trainers who’ve been featured in the games across the years. You’ll battle with and against these trainers, while a press release for the game’s announcement describes its gameplay experience as being “optimized for smart devices for a casual but uniquely Pokémon experience.” More information on the game will follow in June.

Then there’s Pokemon Sleep, which is more an app than a game, and is being handled by Select Button, and will be receiving more information “at a later date”. Due out next year, this app “tracks a user’s time sleeping and brings a gameplay experience unlike any other”. Finally, The Pokemon Company also unveiled Pokemon GO Plus +, which is part a regular Pokemon Go Plus, and part something new, and will track the user’s sleep at night. Niantic are confirmed to be helping out with development.

Meanwhile, if all you care about is Pokemon Sword and Shield, don’f fear- fifteen minutes of new information and gameplay on the Switch games will be released during a Direct Presentation on June 5.
