The long awaited remakes of the third Pokemon games, Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, are due out later this year exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS, and this newest trailer shows us a whole lot of footage, showcasing not just returning, beloved features like Pokemon contests, but new stuff too, such as the addition of all new Mega-Evolutions (Mega-Lopunny, Mega-Altaria, Mega-Salamence), the distribution of a shiny Beldum (which evolves into a Metagross, and then further into a Mega-Metagross. A shiny Mega-Metagross), battling multiple trainers and their Pokemon at once, and, in what might be the most adorable thing ever to come out of Japan, a cosplaying Pikachu.

No, seriously, just look at it. It is so cute.

Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire are due out on November 21 this year, only for the 3DS. They represent the remakes of the third Pokemon games, Pokemon Ruby and sapphire released for the Gameboy Advance, over ten years ago, and they also represent the third remakes in the series, following Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, which remade the first and second games in the series respectively.

It's a whole lot of absolutely nothing!

Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire were announced to be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS last week- the titles are the remakes of the coveted third generation of Pokemon, specifically Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire, the two games upon which the foundation of the entire Pokemon series is built.

The initial announcement for the games consisted of a trailer with absolutely no footage or music whatsoever. This new trailer also features no footage or music- it features what might be a rendition of the climactic scene at the end of the third generation games’ story, with Kyogre and Groudon battling it out in Sootopolis City.

Though we still haven’t seen or heard much of anything about the games, we can at least now safely conclude that the titles will be using the same engine that powered Pokemon X and Y, the series’ first foray into 3D.

Hopefully, we learn more about these titles at Nintendo’s E3 event. Especially given how as of right now, both games are less than six months away from their projected release.

"Fresh new takes" on the classic GBA adventures coming to 3DS.

Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to the 3DS in November 2014. The games will be remakes – or if Nintendo is to be believed, “fresh takes” – of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance. The remakes will apparently take place in a new world and tell a dramatic story to players.

You can expect the usual menagerie of rare Pokemon to be caught, trained and employed for battle purposes. Will Game Freak add newer Pokemon from the recent Pokemon X/Y? That remains to be seen. Mega Evolutions, perhaps? It wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

Nintendo recently revealed its fiscal year financial results and Pokemon X/Y was confirmed to have sold 12.26 million copies worldwide. Obviously there’s a demand for more Pokemon titles on the 3DS after the success of X/Y. Stay tuned on how much new content Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will add.
