A major addition to the list of tracks in Gran Turismo 7 with Spec IV will be Japan’s SUGO Circuit, which offers plenty of challenges thanks to its elevation changes. Long-time Gran Turismo fans will also be happy to see the arrival of the beloved Autumn Ring track with its original layout. An expanded version of Autumn Ring with a larger-scale racing circuit is also coming.

When it comes to cars, Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV will get 12 cars released across the two separate updates. More features will also be coming to the update, including Online Drift Trials and Shuffle races. Details about these, however, will be revealed at a later time.

Finally, the studio is also working on what it refers to as “one of the main highlights” of the Spec IV update – Family Mode. This new mode will feature family-friendly gameplay mechanics that allow even younger children to play and enjoy the racing sim. It will also include features that veterans of the franchise can enjoy.

More details about Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV will be revealed during the Gran Turismo World Series event on October 3rd. The studio has also hinted at bigger plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gran Turismo franchise next year.

The older games it shows are Ghost of Yōtei, Astro Bot, Saros, and Gran Turismo 7 – four games notable for never coming to PC despite being released during the company’s push to other platforms. Accompanying these are upcoming games like Marvel’s Wolverine and God of War Laufey. This would indicate that there are no plans to bring any of these titles to PC at all, and that going forward the company will only go with multiplatform releases for multiplayer games.

Interestingly, while Sony hasn’t entirely abandoned the idea of multiplatform releases, as could be seen with the continued success of co-op shooter Helldivers 2, the video also shows off one game that has a multiplayer component and still never made it to other platforms – Gran Turismo 7. Recent multiplayer games have still been coming out on more platforms. Marathon, for instance, came to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, on the other hand, only came to PC and PS5. Similarly, Horizon Hunters Gathering is slated for simultaneous release across PC and PS5.

Reports from earlier have indicated that there were some plans to bring Ghost of Yōtei to PC in the past. However, these plans have seemingly been canceled, with people “familiar with the company’s plans” indicating that there was a “faction within PlayStation” that didn’t want to release games on PC.

More recently, it looks like Microsoft also shares some of Sony’s sentiments regarding exclusives, with the company announcing that both Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will only come to PC and Xbox Series X/S. Microsoft is taking a more gradual approach to exclusive games, however, and upcoming titles like Fable continue to be slated for PS5 as well.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has spoken about wanting to release more exclusive games on Xbox in the future. However, she noted that the business “isn’t particularly healthy” at the moment, so the strategy of having a couple of exclusive releases is a way for the company to test the waters. More exclusive games will seemingly be released once the business starts getting healthier.

“Look, I think that we are the number two publisher in the world, and when you do that, you want your games to be everywhere,” she said. “You’re stronger when the world plays with you. At the same time, we’re increasingly becoming more of a platform, and it’s hard to find examples of platforms out there that don’t have exclusive services and content.”

“And so, this is a journey for us. Our business isn’t particularly healthy. So, we’re starting by introducing 1-2 signature exclusives. As the business gets healthy, we will look to try and do more.”

The four cars are the ’97 Toyota Chaser Tourer V, the ’97 Toyota Mark II Tourer V, the ’08 Caterham Seven Superlight R500, and the ’25 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N. The studio has also revealed details about how players can get their hands on these cars, and where players can start to experience driving them in the best way.

The ’97 Toyota Mark II Tourer V is a Sleeper Pick car that can be picked up from Used Cars. It offers a major upgrade over the Chaser, as the Mark II in its name might imply, and is meant to represent “a side of car culture where reputation is built through feel, knowledge, and performance rather than appearance alone.” Polyphony recommends that players take it to urban tracks like the Tokyo Expressway before they start tuning and testing it to better suit their preferences.

The ’08 Caterham Seven Superlight R500 is in the Pure Driver category, and can be picked up from Brand Central. It offers a direct driving experience thanks to its lightweight and responsive design, and the general gameplay feel has been described as being less about raw power and more about precision. The developers recommend that players take it for a spin on a Time Trial through a technical track like Deep Forest Raceway.

The ’25 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N falls in the Next Gen Performance category, and is available to buy from Brand Central. Meant to represent the future of cars, the IONIQ 6 N offers responsive steering and performance while also offering “something different from traditional expectations”. Polyphony Digital recommends players take it through a fast circuit like High-Speed Ring before making further adjustments to its tuning.

The new World Circuits added to the game are the Japanese FR Challenge 450 (Kyoto Driving Park – Yamagiwa), the European Clubman Cup 600 (Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout No Chicane), and the World Touring Car 600 (Suzuka Circuit).

Fans of the Scapes mode who like taking pictures of their cars will also be happy to see Whistler being added to the featured Curation list in the mode. Whistler is a town in British Columbia, Canada, that has been described as “a mecca for winter sports”, and due to this, has plenty of resorts surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was also the location for some of the mountain events in the 2010 Winter Olympics hosted in Vancouver.

Back in June, Gran Turismo 7 got a major update that brought in a host of new hypercars, as well as the 911 Turbo S Safety Car. The update also introduced new Drive Challenges to push players and their vehicles to the limit.

Gran Turismo 7 is available exclusively on PS5.

The hypercars in question include the Ferrari 499P 2023, the Peugeot 9X8 2025, the Porsche 963 2024, and the BMW M Hybrid V8. And to further add to the Le Mans celebration, there are five new World Circuit events, including the 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit.

If you’re curious which to take up first, the PlayStation Blog has a helpful five-question quiz. For example, those who favor “precision, rhythm and that ‘factory team’ feeling” should opt for the Ferrari 499P. If aggression and power are your main goal, then the BMW M Hybrid V8 is the right choice. And if you’re all about discipline, then the Safety Car is ready and waiting.

There are even several Drive Challenges to undertake to get to grips with each vehicle. In terms of content drops, it’s not the biggest that Gran Turismo 7 has ever seen, but Update 1.70 is certainly a long time coming for Le Mans fans. Stay tuned for more details on subsequent updates because it’s clear that Polyphony Digital is nowhere close to done with the post-launch support.

These include the Peugeot 9X8, the Ferrari 499P, the Porsche 963 and the BMW M Hybrid V8. To add to the Le Mans hype is the inclusion of a safety car – the 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, which the Hypercars follow if something goes wrong on the track. That’s unlikely to happen during an in-game race, but you can still flip on the sirens for fun.

The next update will likely include new Scapes, Events, and other noteworthy additions, so stay tuned. Available for PS4 and PS5 since March 2022, Gran Turismo 7 is still going strong with the post-launch support, so much so that our 2025 in-depth look at whether you should jump back in is already outdated. Perhaps the biggest new addition is the Power Pack, which adds 50 new races across 20 categories for $30. Head here for more details.

The Leichtbau 964 is a special car coming to Gran Turismo 7, since it has also been considered by many to be one of the company’s greatest hits, despite only 86 of them ever being made. It was the third generation of the Porsche 911, and while it maintained much of the same silhouette as its predecessors – the 901 and 930 – 80 percent of the components in the 964 had been newly engineered. The car features a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. It can be picked up from Legend Cars.

For the more practical drivers out there, the Renault Twingo ’93 is supposed to represent the A-segment, and can be picked up from Used Cars. The vehicle was originally released as a way for Renault to fill a gap left by the Super 5 being replaced by the Clio in 1990. A hatchback, the Twingo sports a three-door monospace design and runs on a 1.2-liter inline-four engine.

The Yangwang U9 ’24, available through Brand Central, is an electric car that has a motor at each wheel. The BYD luxury performance car runs on the company’s proprietary e⁴ platform, and is capable of outputting at 960 kW (1,286 BHP). Handling is also smooth thanks to the combination of hydraulic and pneumatic systems in its DiSu-X suspension system. In case you needed to be convinced of its horsepower even more, the U9 Xtreme variant was able to pursue a top-speed performance that can be considered record-setting in 2025.

The three new World Circuit events are the Schwarzwald League – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, the Hypercar Parade – Yas Marina Circuit, and the World Touring Car 900 – Autódromo de Interlagos. The addition of these events marks the start of the new Gran Turismo World Series Season. More details about the full 2026 calendar of the season will be revealed through a broadcast taking place on August 15th.

There is also plenty of new content for players who prefer off-the-track action as well, with the Café getting Extra Menu No. 53: Muscle Cars for those at collector level 55 and above, as well as more options in Scapes to take the car photos of your dreams.

Players looking for a deeper challenge can check out the new Power Pack challenges added to the Power Pack addon, giving players various rewards depending on how many races they complete in a fixed period of time. The rewards will refresh on a weekly basis, and players can check their progress through either the World Map or through an option in the top-right section of the Event Select screen.

Outside of being an electric vehicle, the SU7 Ultra is especially notable because it offers a blinding 1,527 BHP. It can be purchased from Brand Central alongside the new Hyundai and Porsche vehicles. Other new content includes Extra Menu No. 52 in GT Café, dedicated to the Hyundai N, which becomes available at Collector Level 58 and above.

World Circuits receives three new events: the World Touring Car 600 on Nürburgring Nordschleife, World Touring Car 700 on Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and World Touring Car 800 on Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit. You can also access California Roadsides as a new Curation in Scapes.

Those interested in the Online Qualifiers for the Gran Turismo World Series can participate in Round 5. It all comes to a head on January 31st, after which the Nations Cup Online Qualifiers takes place from February 11th to 28th over six rounds.

At the Gran Turismo World Series 2025 World Finals, Yamauchi revealed during a round-table interview (as reported by GTPlanet) that. “The status that Gran Turismo 7 is in now is probably the best of any Gran Turismo titles that we’ve had in the past. We’ve never experienced this phenomenon before, and neither has PlayStation.”

That Gran Turismo 7 has achieved this without a “price drop” strategy is all the more impressive. Of course, it’s not just the Spec 3 Update – fans also got the $30 Power Pack, which added 50 new races in 20 categories, including 24-hour events. Players can take on GT Sophy 3.0, the latest version of the series’ racing AI, and unlock new vehicles.

Polyphony Digital hasn’t indicated that support will end anytime soon, but you have to wonder if that will change in the coming years, especially with the PS6 reportedly targeting a 2027 release.

First up, the new vehicles, which include the Ferrari 296 GT3 ’23 and 296 GTB ’22, the FIAT Panda 30 CL ’85, the Gran Turismo F3500-B, the Mine’s BNR34 GT-R N1 base, the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R ’97, the Polestar 5 Performance ’26, and the Renault Espace F1 ’95. You’ll be able to take these for a spin on Yas Marina Circuit and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Both have new events to partake in, including:

The Collector Level has been raised from 50 to 75, and as you’ve probably surmised already, that means new Extra Menus in GT Cafe. Check out the full list below, which includes some world-famous brands:

• Extra Menu No. 49: Legendary Road Racers（Collector Level 66 and above)
• Extra Menu No. 50: Audi TT（Collector Level 52 and above)

This is all in addition to Weekly Challenges, which include limited-time online events; the Data Logger for checking their racing lines, speed, brake inputs, and more in real-time during Time Trial, Licenses and Circuit Experience; and Dunlop Tires.

As for the paid Power Pack, which goes live on the same day, it will retail for $29.99. Considering it includes five million Credits worth more than $40, you can truly keep the change. Polyphony also confirmed that you can purchase “six unique cars specifically tuned by Gran Turismo” by collecting Stars from DLC races.

It’s out on the same day as Spec 3 and offers 24-hour endurance racing for those who want the feeling of Le Mans without leaving their home (or watching Ford vs Ferrari). A new PlayStation Blog post reveals that there’s much more included, namely 50 brand new races in 20 “themed categories inspired by global automotive and motorsport traditions.”

Furthermore, you can partake in full race weekends with practice rounds and qualifiers and take advantage of Gran Turismo Sophy 3.0, Polyphony’s racing AI. The latter’s 2.0 version has been free for base game owners, but they’ll need to pony up for the upgrade.

Finally, and strangely enough, you get 5,000,000 Credits, which equate to more than $40 (though you can earn them in-game for free). Sony has yet to confirm pricing for the Power Pack, but at this point, $40 to $50 looks likely. As always, stay tuned for updates.
