EA and PopCap Games’ charming and colorful family friendly third person multiplayer shooter series, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, may soon be getting a third entry. As is so often the case these days, a retailer listing seems to have leaked the existence of the game before it was announced.

Amusingly enough, this did not happen in the way that you might have expected it to- an Amazon listing was spotted for the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Volume 2 graphic novel, the description of which says that it will bridge the story of Garden Warfare 2 with the upcoming Garden Warfare 3– which, right there, indicates that a third game is inbound.

Of course, no official confirmation or announcement of the game’s existence has been made yet- but we should expect an announcement, presumably at E3, that this game is coming. Much like the previous installment, I expect it on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Popcap’s Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is now finally out- the game is available to everybody to download, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In select locations, the game will also be available at retail physically.

Garden Warfare 2 takes the Plants vs Zombies experience, and escalates it to new levels- with zombies having taken over Suburbia and plants on the offense, the stakes have changed. Meanwhile, players will get to experience the Backyard Battleground, which is a lively, interactive hub, that acts as a menu for players to get to any and all maps and modes in the game. The game features 12 maps, 8 game modes, and over 100 playable characters.

That’s not all, either- players of the original Garden Warfare will earn special in game perks and bonuses based on their rank in the first game- a good way, if there ever was one, to encourage them to move on to the sequel.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is out not on Xbox One (via the Xbox Live Marketplace), PS4 (via PSN Store), and PCs running Windows (via Origin).

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, the sequel to EA and Popcap’s gloriously deranged family friendly shooter, is almost here, and ahead of its launch, we’ve got yet another trailer for the game on our hands. This newest trailer walks us through the 12 maps that the game will be launching with, showcasing the arenas in which our anthropomorphized plants will take on the invading zombies.

It seems awesome- and from what I can see, the map design seems to have improved from the original Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, too. There is an almost Nintendo like nuance to how well the maps have been designed this time around.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is going to release on February 23 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. You can check out the new trailer for the game for yourself below- though if you’re the kind who chaffs at spoilers, maybe it’s best to just avoid watching it?

A new trailer is now out for Popcap’s upcoming Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, and it shows us some more of the gleeful, crazy, and over the top family friendly action that has become a trademark for these games. “In Plants vs. Zombies:Garden Warfare 2, the zombies have conquered Suburbia,” Popcap explains. “These zombies in fact, these utterly bonkers zombies.”

‘Bonkers’ would be the right word for it, too. Garden Warfare 2 looks crazy in all the best ways possible, and, frankly, seems to be a shooter with far more nuance and depth to its action, which also happens to be far more frenetic, than most other shooters on the market.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 25.

Popcap went ahead and gave us a brand new trailer for Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 today. The new video that showcases some of the game’s all new single player features, including the Solo Ops game mode, hot-swapping between characters on the fly (you get full control of any character on the map, and you can switch between them at will), and the new customization options in Crazy Settings.

Crazy Settings seems to be particularly fun- it lets players turn their game into a richer and crazier experience in either Solo Play, or private and local matches with the power to modify the game with fun, over-the-top options including:

• Infini-Ammo- Characters have infinite ammo without overheat.
• Speed Boost Craziness – Characters move crazy fast.
• Low Gravity – It isn’t just for the moon.The entire match will be played in low gravity.
• Simply Explode Mode – Characters explode when vanquished “simply.”
• Ridiculously Low Health – All characters have a max of one health – instant vanquishes.
• Super Crazy Knock-back Mode- Damaged characters get knocked back really far.

EA’s follow up to the widely beloved Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, the family friendly third person shooter that pits potted anthropomorphic plants against undead zombies, will be releasing on February 23, the company announced today. The game, which was announced at E3 earlier this year, drops you into an all-out battle where for the first time in franchise history, zombies have conquered Suburbia and plants are on the attack.

“At PopCap, we love to excite our fans, and couldn’t be more ready and thrilled to bring Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 into their hands earlier than expected,” said Justin Wiebe, Creative Director, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. “From the immersive worlds and the crazy characters, to the new ways to play such as Backyard Battleground, we’re incredibly proud of the game we’re building. PopCap and EA have released a second free DLC pack for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. With the Zomboss Down DLC pack, the game will head to the Wild West, and two new maps, namely Cactus Canyon Gardens and Graveyards Map, will be the highlight additions to the game.

There will be much more, though. The DLC consists of over two hundred new customization items, an increased level cap of 30 for each character instead of the original 20 and “all new challenges.”

In Zomboss Down, plants have retaliated against Dr. Zomboss’s blimp and have sent an army of zombies to further increase the troubles and create a gold course. This acts as a new facility for the battle between cactus and zombies on the new Gardens and Graveyards Map, Cactus Canyon maps. There are also seven new characters which includes  Archeologist Zombie, the Wrestling Star Zombie and the Law Pea.

PopCap Games recently released a free DLC for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare that included a new map, a new 8v8 online game mode and 24 in-game upgrades, but the DLC had quite a lot of errors that included technical issues and lost economy upgrades.

But PopCap is releasing a patch to fix those issues very soon.

“We now have fixes locally and are testing them,” Garden Warfare creative director Justin Wiebe said on Twitter. “All goes well game should be running smooth on X1 tonight. X360 will take a bit longer.

“Patch tests are good. We will be rolling out the patch to the servers tonight which will also restore prev economy and balance tuning.

“Please note however Driftwood Shores and Main Street G&G maps will be out of map rotation on X360 a little longer. Again our apologies.”

Peggle 2 came out as a timed exclusive for the Xbox One in December and was met with decent praise for its endearing and addictive gameplay, just as the original game was. And that left Xbox 360 owners wondering- to some capacity- whether they’d get the chance to play the puzzle title anytime soon. Turns out, they will.

Developer PopCap Games will be releasing an Xbox 360 version of Peggle 2 on May 7, Microsoft has announced. What’s more, Xbox 360 owners will also be treated to an additional online Duel mode, for multiplayer battles both online and locally. The Duel mode has also been made available to Xbox One owners, starting today. Go, go, go, if you have Peggle 2, download the Duel mode.

Peggle 2 has been praised by several people for being extremely enjoyable and addictive, but it hasn’t seen the same level of critical success that the original Peggle did. I’d still say it’s worth a purchase, though.
