Console players can also pre-load the game a few days before release.

Whether you’re on consoles or PC, you’ll be able to pre-load Bethesda Softworks’ Fallout 4 a few days before its official launch.

Bethesda revealed the news on Twitter and stated that, “We can confirm that #Fallout4 will have pre-loading on Xbox One, PS4, and PC so you have a few days to download the game before 11/10.”

This will essentially allow you to download all the necessary data for the game and as soon as it goes live on November 10th, you can begin playing it. Isn’t technology wonderful?

Fallout 4 is the eagerly awaited sequel to the franchise which finally sees players returning to the wasteland to discover their purpose. It will include a massive world that manages to dwarf earlier Bethesda games; tons of customization in the perks, weapons and character creation; and much better shooting than Fallout 3. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.

Media Player also now supports USB devices.

Even though it’s still August, the Xbox One’s September update is now available. Several new features have been added as a result, including a very particular one that pertains to Bungie’s Destiny.

From today onwards, you’ll now be able to pre-load digital games that you’ve pre-ordered. This was revealed somewhat early yesterday when Microsoft confirmed pre-loading for Destiny when it releases on September 9th. Other changes include the Media Player app supporting more file formats and USB devices, posting statuses and comments from SmartGlass, OneGuide and voice support for other countries, a “leader” feature for the Party app (so everyone knows who to blame when things go wrong) and much more.

You can check out the full notes on the update here. Microsoft has outdone itself with significant updates each month – what will October hold, especially with so many major releases happening? We’ll have to wait and find out so stay tuned.

Microsoft confirms pre-loading though download size is still unknown.

After Sony revealed that PlayStation 4 version of Destiny would support pre-loading when it launches, Microsoft has confirmed that Bungie’s online shooter will also support pre-loading on the Xbox One. If you’ve purchased the game, it will be downloaded a few days earlier and be live for playing on September 9th at midnight.

A listing on Xbox.com, which was subsequently removed, revealed the option for pre-loading. Later, a representative for Microsoft told Polygon that, “We’ll have more details to share soon about the pre-order and pre-download window for Destiny.” At this point, the download size of Destiny is unknown.

Destiny is arguably one of the biggest releases of the past several years and will Bungie’s first major franchise after Halo. It combines MMORPGs, co-op, first person shooter, competitive play and much more into one big sci-fi epic. It will be out on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 so stay tuned for more details.

This is according to inFamous: Second Son developer Sucker Punch.

If you’ve had to download games through the PlayStation Store, you’ll often find that there isn’t an option to pre-load the game right before its launch. This has been the case with inFamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch Productions’ open world superhero game, but apparently, game pre-loading could be due in April.

This comes from developer Sucker Punch, who stated that there would be, No preload on PS4 until April and for North America, the PS Store will update at midnight PST…so 3 AM EST.”

As for whether pre-loading would be coming for both Europe and North American regions, Sucker Punch replied, “Not sure about SCEE but yes on SCEA.”

InFamous: Second Son is due to arrive tomorrow for the PlayStation 4 and expectations – along with pre-order numbers – are high. Will you be picking up the game? What are your thoughts on being able to pre-load games on PSN before release? Let us know in the comments.

Still less space than Call of Duty: Ghosts' install size.

EA has revealed a new video touting the ability to pre-load the PC version of DICE’s Battlefield 4. More interesting than the ability to do the same, the video reveals that the overall pre-load size is 28.3 GB. Check out the video at the 0:30 mark for confirmation.

Battlefield 4 will occupy roughly 30 GB of hard disk space, but it will also require 8 GB of RAM and Windows 8 64-bit to run properly. Check out the PC system requirements here. And to think that it’s 10 GB less than the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts’ install size, which stands at 40 GB.

Battlefield 4 will be releasing on October 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It will also launch for PlayStation 4 on November 15th/29th in North America/Europe, while the Xbox One version will release on November 22nd across 13 territories worldwide. Stay tuned for more information and our official review for the game when it releases.
