CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is only a week away from release but the open world action adventure title has already crossed the one million mark in its pre-orders.

Celebrating the milestone, CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwiński stated that, “We’ve crossed the one million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support. This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard — over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine.”

Hearts of Stone is expected to release in October 2015 while Blood & Wine is out in early 2016. Both expansions have been pegged to add roughly 30 hours of additional content on top of the base game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be out on May 19th for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. Some retailers have begun to sell it early though. Stay tuned for more information on the game, including our official review on the same.

Nintendo recently announced plans to develop mobile games featuring its popular intellectual properties in collaboration with DeNA. On top of this, the company also announced plans for a new core system codenamed the NX. Nothing is known about the system at this point other than Nintendo and DeNA jointly developing “a new membership service, which encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, the new hardware with a brand new concept NX, smart devices and PCs.”

So it’s a bit odd to note that EB Games Australia is accepting pre-orders for the NX. Think about it – a new system which doesn’t even have an official name can be pre-ordered.

While we don’t doubt that it will eventually release, EB Games Australia may be jumping the gun a little too early. That or it believes the concept is strong enough to warrant enough consumer participation at this stage, without an official name or other details. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Ubisoft has announced its range of pre-order bonuses for Assassin’s Creed Unity, with each unique retail receiving its own unique in-game item.

Amazon consumers will net the Pioneer Axe, which is “a battleaxe like no other”; GameStop customers will get the Razorhead Spear, which apparently promises to kill every piece of armour out there; Walmart gets Maple Hunting Rifle; and Best Buy gets the Under/Over Pistol, an double barreled pistol that can apparently let off two bullets at once. All pre-orders will also feature “The Chemical Revolution” mission along with a code for participating in a real world sweepstakes (with one of the prizes being a trip to Ubisoft Montreal or Paris).

There’s also the Collector’s Edition, which will include a 16 inch Arnaud figurine, a musical box that can play the official, the OST, an art book, the Killed by Science and Chemical Revolution missions and of course, a swanky collector’s edition box.

The Creative Assembly introduced a rather interesting pre-order bonus for those who ordered Alien: Isolation, its upcoming first person survival horror title, early. You would be able to play as the cast from the original Alien film in two special DLC missions. That’s right: Sigourney Weaver is yours to control as Ellen Ripley as she desperately struggles to survive her encounter with the lone Xenomorph.

A new video has been released showcasing these missions and they look intriguing to say the least. The Creative Assembly has been very high on capturing the atmosphere and horror of the original film, completely de-emphasizing the action elements and guerilla warfare of Aliens. We’d say it’s working out but the final game still remains to be judged accordingly.

Sid Meier will be returning soon with the next major instalment of Civilization, namely Civilization: Beyond Earth and it finally has a release date for PC. The strategy tile will be out on October 24th and if you pre-order now, you’ll receive the Exoplanets Map Pack.

This is a map pack that consists of six custom maps which are based on real planets. These include Kepler 186f, a forest planet which mirrors Earth very closely; Rigil Khantoris Bb, an arid planet with fairly well-preserved historical records; Tau Ceti d, composed of seas and archipelagos; Mu Arae f, a rather interesting planet which has the southern hemisphere facing endless, blistering sunlight while the northern hemisphere is composed of nothing but darkness; 82 Eridani e, a planet which faces multiple tectonic shifts and which is devoid of water (but not of aliens); and Eta Vulpeculae b, a relatively unknown planet.

Visceral Games’ Battlefield: Hardline was probably supposed to have a more epic reveal than it eventually did but the impact it caused is no less significant. After art assets and gameplay footage leaked, Electronic Arts and Visceral Games admitted that a SWAT themed Battlefield was indeed on the way.

Now Battlefield: Hardline is available for pre-order on Origin for PC and it currently retails for £49. Right now the standard edition has been priced but you can expect more details on the Digital Deluxe Edition as they arrive in the coming months. The release date for the game is listed as Fall 2014 around the same time that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be available.

Battlefield: Hardline will be showcased at EA’s E3 media briefing on June 9th and is currently in development for Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days and let us know in the comments what you think of the game thus far.

E-xpress Interactive Software has announced the different pre-orders that Ubisoft Montreal’s Watch Dogs will be receiving when it releases in India on May 27th 2014. These will include the Cyberpunk, Dedsec + Chicago Club and Untouchable DLC packs that you can pick up on pre-ordering the game.

If you pre-order from Games The Shop/Amazon, you stand to receive all three DLC packs. Ordering from Flipkart allows you access to Dedsec + Chicago South Club Faction Pack DLCs on all pre-orders. Landmark, Planet M and other retail stores will over the Untouchable or Cyberpunk packs along with an A2 double sided poster and QR code to pick up the H_IDE app.

Watch Dogs will release for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 27th worldwide. In India, it will retail at Rs. 1799 for PC, Rs. 2999 for PS3/Xbox 360 and Rs. 3499 for PS4/Xbox One. Which platform will you be getting it for? Let us know in the comments below.

InFamous: Second Son is still two weeks away from its worldwide launch on the PlayStation 4 but the game has already garnered tons of positive attention leading up to its release.

Speaking to MCV, SCE UK product manager Josh Walker has confirmed that pre-orders for the game have already surpassed The Last of Us on PS3. “We are excited by the level of pre-orders which are exceeding that of The Last of Us at this point in the run up to its launch.

“We can already see it benefiting from the goodwill and of buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date.”

InFamous: Second Son takes place several years after the second game and will see Conduit Delsin Rowe battle a totalitarian regime using a combination of powers gathered from other Conduits. Second Son is set to release worldwide on March 21st.

Milestone Interactive has announced that MMO fans are now able to pre-order The Elder Scrolls Online. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, the game focuses on the war between several different factions in Tamriel to ascend to the throne.

Players will be able to pre-order it through Game4U and it will be available through the digital download service on April 4th 2014 for PC. It’s worth noting that both the Standard and Imperial Editions will be made available, with the former retailing for Rs. 4,499 and the latter costing Rs. 5,999. You get more than the normal game with both packs and are able to reap plenty of goodies.

However, you’ll also need to pay a monthly subscription fee of $14.99, which translates to Rs 929.38 per month. So in case you thought it was a one-time purchase, then think again. Both packs offer several days worth of early access and allow you to play as any alliance among the nine races. Stay tuned for more details as we near the game’s release.

On being asked about the number of pre-orders at his own store, the manager responded, “I think my store hit ~150 vs ~30 XBone.” He could only identify one place with more pre-orders for the Xbox One. “Yupp, the only store I saw with more XBone pre orders than PS4 was a mall store, had like 110 PS4 and 115 Xbone. Otherwise on average, there are a decent amount more PS4 pre orders.”

It of course varies from store to store, but the manager recounts that even after cancellations, there are still a large number of pre-orders remaining. “Depends on the store but yeah thats all guaranteed for day one. Sony told us to take as many as we could for 3 weeks and we had ~170 PS4’s back in July, after cancels since then, we’re at ~150 now. Idk where we’re putting them all, haha, no break room for a few days in the back.”

As for those who have pre-ordered their console, you better carry some ID when you head to the store to pick up your console. “At my store, we are requiring EVERYONE who reserved a PS4 to bring a LEGAL STATE ISSUED ID. IF your first and last name is not the first and last name the pre order is under, you cannot get it unless that person left a note in the system saying so and so can pick it up with ID.”

And those who haven’t pre-ordered the console? Get ready for the midnight haul. “So for the system, you’re going to want to get there early its store to store basis. Most will have midnights, but not all. If there is a midnight release, then you’re going to want to camp there Thursday during the day before the midnight.

“As for the games, Knack, Killzone will be sorta limited supplies, as for the AAA titles, there should be a sufficient supply. KZ and Knack are out now as well as COD so buy those now if you see them available. I know controllers will be tough to get too. As for BF4, NBA, Fifa, Madden, those are still pre-orderable, I recommend reserving one now.”
