Sony has blown off the lid on the PS Suite, which promises that the Vita to fight back against the Smartphones and the likes. The beta version of the SDK will be released on April and will be free, although, the full version will be released later this year for $99.

The phased rollout of the open beta version will start in April 2012 free of charge and expand target countries beyond Japan, United States and the United Kingdom. Developers will also be able to conduct performance verification of their content developed with the open beta version on PlayStation Vita.

The PS Suite is compatible with a lot of Sony devices, and is mainly for mobiles and PS Vita. The official version is also compatible with the beta version and developers can continue to develop without any problems.

You can already paid the PS3 controller, DualShock 3 with any Android device, but Sony has officially added support for the controller for their latest Tablets. Sony Tablet S is Playstation certified and this is just one step in making it completely compatible with PS devices.

You can use the controller to play… ermm PS1 games, like Crash Bandicoot and the likes. The update is already out in Japan and the Tablet owners get a free download – Ape Escape-themed mini-game collection.

You will need an USB cable to pair the controller with the Tablet, and it’s just needed the first time.

PlayStation (R) * 1 * 2 wireless controller support for three. Video Chat plugged into Skype (TM) * 3 Additional Applications. S Series only cradle (SGPDS1) works better when mounting.

To use the USB adapter cable * 1 (SGPUC1 sold separately) is required.

* 2 Sony Tablet (TM) S-series offers only.
* 3 Sony Tablet (TM) offers the only P-Series.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

SCE CEO Kaz Hirai has told Japanese media that the PlayStation Suite might be implemented in more platforms and not only be confined to Android ones.

“We’re focusing first on Android,” Hirai told the roundtable of local media. “There’s also Windows, iOS and so forth, but we don’t have the resources to make it compatible with everything from the start.

This is great news since the services that the PS Suite promises will prove to be a match made in heaven if its indeed comes to the Windows 7 platform as there are a lot of capable phones who’re using it.

More as it arrives.
