Everyone in UK can now stream PlayStation games.

Sony’s streaming service for PlayStation 3 games, PlayStation Now, has entered open beta in the UK as of today- though the service is still not technically ‘finalized’ (and hence the beta moniker), anybody can now go ahead and subscribe to it, playing games via broadband internet.

PlayStation Now is supported on a vast range of devices- not all of them PlayStation. You can use it as a gateway into the PlayStation library. All you need is a DualShock 3 or DualShock 4 controller, as well as a Sony Entertainment Network account. That, plus one of the following machines:

Sony Bravia TVs

Day 1 – 2015 Series: X94C, X93C, X90C, S85C, S80C, X85C, X83C, W85C, W80C, W75C, W70C Series

Later date – 2014 Series: X95B, X90B, S90B, X85B, W95B, W85B, W80B, W70B, W60B, W58B Series

Sony Blu-ray Players

Day 1 – 2015 Series: BDP-S6500, BDP-S5500, BDP-S4500, BDP-S3500, BDP-S1500

PlayStation

Day 1- PlayStation 3 (all models) PlayStation Vita (all models), PlayStation TV (all models), PlayStation 4 (all models)

PlayStation Now will also eventually come to Samsung TVs in the future, as well as smartphones and tablets.

For a very limited time.

For as long as the PS4 has been out, and the PS Vita handheld reduced to being just a glorified accessory for it, people have wondered when Sony would just stop pretending, and start bundling the Vita with each new PS4 sold. And, well, I guess that has finally happened? Sort of, anyway.

For a limited time, it appears as though all PlayStation 4 1TB consoles will be bundled with the PlayStation TV, the Vita based microconsole that lets you extend your PS4 across the house via Remote Play, and also lets you play your Vita games on the big screen. It’s not as good as getting an actual Vita handheld, but hey, the PlayStation TV lets you play Persona 4 Golden, and it lets you play it on the big screen- what more could you want?

It sounds like a good enough deal to me- especially since you have to pay nothing extra. Plus, again, this way you get the PS4, and you get access to the best game ever made via the PSTV. Why would anyone complain?
