Carbine Studios’ WildStar is finally in the public beta stage and the developer has begun releasing dev diaries and live-stream videos to explain the game. This dev diary talks about the endgame which occurs after one reaches the level cap. Check it out above.

It also has product director Mike Donatelli saying that, “We have the best damn MMO that you’re going to play this year. Period. End.”

So what can you expect when reaching the level cap? Well, you’ll be battling the real menace on the planet Nexus and thus become the champion of the universe who must defeat it. Of course, there’s a ton of other content for post-level cap players namely the Raids.

Till then, the public beta is ongoing. Have you given it a shot yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Wildstar will be in public beta from May 8th to 18th and launch on June 3rd.

Activision Blizzard has revealed that the public beta for Bungie’s Destiny will be arriving in July, according to a recent investor call. The beta was tipped to arrive this Summer for PlayStation platforms first.

The publisher also reported that the profits for the company in this past quarter were down 35 percent year-on-year. Activision has a lot to look forward to this year though with Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare along with Bungie’s Destiny. We reported yesterday that the budget for Destiny is somewhere in the range of $500 million and will require 15 to 16 million units to break even on launch. CEO Bobby Kotick himself said the stakes continue to increase for the company.

Destiny will be out on September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 worldwide. PvP gameplay is set to be revealed at E3 2014 – more beta details will likely be incoming at that time as well. Stay tuned for more details.

A public beta for the 2013 Xbox Live Update for Xbox 360 has been announced, and Microsoft is allowing Xbox Live members to participate. There are limited spaces though, so players will need to sign up now if they’re interested. Simply head to the Xbox Beta Program title on the Home page of the Xbox Dashboard. After agreeing to an NDA, you’ll be on your way to taking part.

According to Major Nelson, members from any of the 41 Xbox Live enabled regions will be able to participate, although Japanese members will have a chance later to register.

The Xbox Live update will allow for improved performance and will Microsoft Points being phased out. Instead, members will be able to conduct business through the use of local currency which should go a long way towards better value for money on some Xbox Live purchases.

Stay tuned for more details on the beta, including feedback to follow. Till then, check out the FAQ for more details.

The only game standing in the way of Modern Warfare 3 dominating the first-person shooter sales this holiday season is Battlefield 3. The public beta for the game is now live for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. There is only one mode in the beta which is ‘Rush’ and one map which is ‘Operation Metro’ at least for consoles that is.

The one map you will be playing in the beta is by far the biggest multiplayer map I have ever seen in a console game. You can go from an above ground park area to an entire subway system underground. That alone is breath taking as well as the animations when jumping over cover, to diving to the prone position and even crawling seemed so realistic. There are obvious a few bumps I noticed in the beta, but that is why it is a beta and overall I was very impressed.

Wearing headsets will let you hear things that you wouldn’t normally hear as well as hearing things a lot clearer, which is not always the case with games. With out a doubt the new Frosbyte 2 Engine is definitely put to work here. It will certainly be interesting to see which game does better in sales, whether it is Battlefield 3 releasing on October 23rd or Modern Warfare 3 releasing on November 8th. Add the Battlefield 3 Beta to your Xbox 360 download queue here.

Playstation 3 users will be able to download a Killzone 3 open beta on February 2 in the US and February 3 in Europe. The beta will have the MP05 ‘Frozen Dam’ multiplayer map and all three multiplayer modes which are ‘Guerrilla Warfare’, ‘Warzone’ and ‘Operations’ as well as Botzone.

* Guerrilla Warfare (16 players): Guerrilla Warfare is a standalone multiplayer mode similar to classic Team Deathmatch: You and your teammates must try to kill as many of the opposing team as you can before the timer runs out. In this mode, only the downstream monitor houses and repair bay are accessible, giving the map a very frantic pace.

* Warzone (24 players): If you’ve played Killzone 2, you may already be familiar with Warzone. It’s a round-based multiplayer campaign that consists of five randomly ordered mini-missions. In this mode the power house and penstocks directly under the dam are accessible as well, so there’s more room to come up with different strategies and approaches to your goal.

* Operations (16 players): Operations is a new multiplayer campaign which aims to deliver a more cinematic, story-based gameplay experience, similar to that of Killzone 3′s single-player mode. It consists of a sequence of linear mini-missions, in which the ISA must try to secure the docks and destroy the dam, while the Helghast must try to protect the dam facility.

* Botzone (one player and up to 15 bots): Botzone is an offline multiplayer mode ideal for those looking to get to grips with the controls, the weapons or the map layout before going up against live players. Each of the aforementioned multiplayer modes can be played offline, against CPU-controlled opponents.

Killzone 3 is out exclusively for the Playstation 3, PS Move Capable, on February 23 in Europe, and February 25 in the UK. The game will also include a beta for SOCOM 4 on specially marked copies.
