Puyo Puyo Tetris, the fantastic puzzle game by Sega that launched on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch last year, and which features a crossover of the classic Tetris and Puyo Puyo franchises, was being teased by Sega for a PC release as recently as yesterday- and now, it is official. Puyo Puyo Tetris will be releasing on PC via Steam on February 27.

The game will be pretty much the same as it was on the Switch, although Sega has also added the option for PC players to select Japanese voiceovers, which was not present in that version. That apart, it’s the same game Switch players fell in love with last year- so if you haven’t played it already, I cannot recommend it enough.

One of the best games that came out last year was also one of the ones that completely flew under the radar- Puyo Puyo Tetris, a joining of two epic puzzle franchises that launched on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 last year. The game was apparently a success, selling almost a million units worldwide- and now, Sega may be looking to capitalize on its success.

Over on the Steam announcements section for Bayonetta, Sega has gone ahead and posted two very blatant references to Puyo Puyo and Tetris- which, I assume, is their way of indicating that a PC port for last year’s puzzle game hit is coming to PC. Sega has been porting a lot of its games to the platform recently- last year we got Bayonetta and Vanquish– so this wouldn’t be out of character for them.

If you own a Switch or PS4, and haven’t already, go play Puyo Puyo Tetris. I guarantee you it is worth it.
