However, online features for Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on PC won't be supported due to the game's "aging system."

After being disabled due to an exploit that could result in information theft and system bricking, the online features for Dark Souls Remastered are available again on PC. It follows the same features being reactivated for Dark Souls 3 and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. Owners of the base version of Dark Souls 2 on PC still need to wait until later for online features to be restored.

It’s worth noting that Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition won’t have its online services restored on PC. This is due to an “aging system,” which makes sense given that this version launched in 2012. It may be a good time to move over to Dark Souls Remastered for one’s PvP needs. Alternatively, you can check out Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s open-world take on Dark Souls, which recently received separate damage scaling for PvP.

For more details on Dark Souls Remastered, check out our review here. It’s available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Ninja Theory's acclaimed action-adventure title has amassed quite an impressive number of players since its launch in 207.

Microsoft announced out of nowhere yesterday that Ninja Theory’s acclaimed action-adventure title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has now been optimized for the Xbox Series X/S, with the new dedicated version of the game boasting improved visuals, 4K resolution, ray-tracing, and much more. The developer, meanwhile, took the chance to announce an important landmark for the game.

Ninja Theory took to Twitter yesterday and confirmed that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has been played by more than 6.3 million players since launch. The game came out four years ago, in 2017, for PS4 and PC, before making its way to Xbox One a few months later, which was followed by a Switch launch in 2019. We don’t know exactly how much the game has sold, of course, but 6.3 million players is an impressive figure regardless.

Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that the game’s Xbox Series X/S update is also arriving for PC players soon. Read more on that through here.

A sequel, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, is also currently in development, but doesn’t yet have a release date.

QLOC helped develop the recent update, which allowed for Ninja Theory to focus on its own projects (like Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2).

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice recently received a surprise update for Xbox Series X/S, providing three graphical modes with support for 4K, 120 FPS and DirectX Raytracing. On its official website for the same, Ninja Theory confirmed that the update would also be coming to PC. Unfortunately, there aren’t any plans to release it for other platforms at the moment.

For this update, the developer partnered with QLOC, who ported the game over to the Nintendo Switch (and are also responsible for the Windows Store PC port of NieR: Automata). This means that Ninja Theory has been able to focus on its own titles like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 instead of diverting resources. Of course, it’s still going to be a while before the sequel releases.

It wasn’t present during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021, instead receiving a work montage later on. Ninja Theory’s plan at the time was to create “a good chunky slice of the game” before full production began to create the rest. It also expressed the desire to not have it be a straight up to the original. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The rumour states the game will run at 4K and 60 FPS.

Bloodborne has once again been in the rumour mill of late, with reports of the beloved FromSoftware game coming to PC and the upcoming PS5 doing the rounds. A recent report, in fact, briefly touched upon who’s in charge of the rumoured remaster, claiming that it’s being developed someone other than FromSoftware. Another new rumour – this time a video on YouTube by PC Gaming Inquisition – claims to know who that developer is.

Allegedly, it’s two developers. QLOC – the studio behind Dark Souls Remastered – and Bluepoint Games – who’re strongly rumoured to be working on a full-fledged remake of Demon’s Souls – are working together on the Bloodborne remaster. The video states that the game will come to Steam on PC and support ultrawide resolution, and will run at 4K and 60 frames per second. There’s also mention of improved textures, quality of life improvements, and shorter load times. As for when it might be out, the video just says it will be released “soon.”

Interestingly enough, the video also brings up the aforementioned (also rumoured) Demon’s Souls remake by Bluepoint Games, and claims that Sony will close out their PS5 games showcase by announcing the game. Bluepoint Games have seemingly hinted that they’ll be present at the showcase at least in some capacity.

This should go without saying, but take this leak with a grain of salt. There’s plenty of smoke surrounding Bloodborne, but that’s often been the case in the past, and that hasn’t necessarily led to anything before. Do we hope this is true? Obviously- but it very well might not be.

We should find out one way or another soon enough. The PS5 games showcase was delayed from its original June 4 date, but Sony have said that they will share a new date for it “soon.”

After tweeting a hazy GPU image, the company said to "stay tuned."

Though the jury is still out regarding that limited edition Xbox One controller whose listing cropped up recently, Cyberpunk 2077 does seem primed to receive a themed GPU from Nvidia. It started as an exchange between the official Cyberpunk 2077 and Nvidia Twitter accounts about making limited edition graphics cards. Nvidia would then tease a hazy GPU image with the words “stay tuned.”

So essentially, yes, there will be a limited edition Nvidia GPU based on Cyberpunk 2077. When it will release, what its specs will be and how it will look (aside from the trademark yellow) remains to be seen. One would think it will be able to run the first person RPG but don’t quote us on that.

Cyberpunk 2077, meanwhile, is slated to release on September 17th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It was originally meant to launch in April but faced delays due to the development team wanting further polish. This will result in “some degree of crunch” for the next few months, though CD Projekt RED has roped in QLOC for additional development and QA support. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Polish port specialists QLOC will be aiding CD Projekt RED with the upcoming RPG's development.

Of all the games that have recently been hit with delays, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is among the most major, having been pushed by by five months from its original April launch. CDPR cited wanting to playtest and polish the game further as their primary reasons for delaying the highly anticipated RPG, and now, they’ve enlisted the help of another studio to aid with that.

Fellow studio QLOC, who specialize in ports and quality assurance, recently took to Twitter to confirm that they’ll be helping CDPR with both, development and QA of Cyberpunk 2077. QLOC have been involved with several major ports, including the likes of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for the Switch, Dark Souls Remastered, the PC versions of Mortal Kombat XL, Mortal Kombat 11, and Injustice 2, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, and more. Hopefully their experience and expertise will prove useful to CDPR, and help alleviate any potential crunch during development.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, on September 17, right on the cusp of next-gen console releases. Recently, reports came to light that the game was delayed due to its poor optimization on the base Xbox One, but CDPR have since disputed those reports.

Mortal Kombat 11 has been getting updated with various patches since its release last month. The large part of those has been to address the game’s super grindy in-game economy, one of the game’s biggest criticisms (you can read about it in our review). But there has been some other issues as well, particularly with the PC version.

Many PC players have found that certain actions are locked to 30 FPS for whatever reason. The menus and other non-combat actions, such as Fatalities and Fatal Blows, are locked, despite the game’s core gameplay not being so. Now it seems the PC port handler, QLOC, is looking to change that.

In a post on Reddit about the last patch notes, the developers say they’ve heard the complaints and are now working on a solution to unlock the framerate to 60 for the entire game. They don’t give a time frame, but they seem to be working on it at the very least. PC players are definitely thirsting for it, as a mod that already does that is out there, and actually got redone once the last patch broke the first version.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

We reported earlier about the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 being a bit behind in its update schedule. It seems the same could be said for the PC version as well, as it lacked some of the recent updates that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got. The Switch and PC ports were handled by different companies, Shiver and QLOC respectively, so things like this happen in that situation sometimes. Thankfully, the big balancing patch that addressed many of the criticisms about the in-game economy already came out, but this new update brings the two versions in line with the PS4 and Xbox One’s update schedule- and the PC version even got a little bonus.

Via the game’s official Reddit, patch notes for both versions have been posted. They include more tweaking to the game’s Towers of Time mode, game rewards, enemy AI adjustment, and a lot more. The PC version even gets a little extra, as it adds some new shadow optimization options. You can head on below for the list of patch notes, or check out the Switch list here, and the PC one here.

The update brings the PC version up to date with console versions.

Mortal Kombat 11’s somewhat mixed reception largely came from its in-game economy, which many felt was far too mobile-influenced, leading to a long grind to get cosmetics (you can see the breakdown in our review of the game). The backlash led to developer NetherRealm Studios sending out an update to the game that adjusted the difficulty of the Towers of Time mode and amount of in-game currency you received for various activities. The update went live for consoles at the beginning of the week, along with a gift of in-game currency for early adopters. The PC version was a bit behind, though, but now it seems NRS and QLOC (the PC port’s developer) have brought it up to speed. You can see the list of patch notes below, or via the game’s official Reddit.

Also worth noting is that we reported on a mod that unlocked the framerate for the PC version from the locked 30 FPS in menus, Fatalities, Fatal Blows, and the Krypt. It seems this patch broke compatibility with that mod, but the creators of it have already released an updated version, which you can download here.
