Developer Insomniac has announced that the Ratchet and Clank HD Trilogy, due out for the PS3 on May 16, has been pushed back to an early June release date in Europe. No reason for the delay or a specific release date have been announced yet.

“We’ve been informed the Ratchet & Clank HD Trilogy has been pushed back a bit in Europe to early June,” says Insomniac’s Twitter feed (via Eurogamer). “Will share more when we have date.”

Online retailer Amazon says the compilation will be out in Europe on June 8. That, however, is an unconfirmed release date.

Ratcher and Clank HD Trilogy will include HD remasters of the first three Ratchet and Clank games along with co-op and Trophies support. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated.

The previously leaked and rumoured Ratchet and Clank HD Collection has now been officially confirmed by Insomniac.

The collection will include the first three games of the series that were originally released on the PS2, namely Ratchet and Clank, Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, confirmed Insomniac CEO Ted Price via the  to confirm the Ratchet & Clank Collection.

The remaster will be handled by Idol Minds, and will feature upgraded 1080p visuals, 3D support and three platinum Torphies, and the competitive multiplayer mode from Up Your Arsenal will also be included.

It will be releasing on the PS3 in North America in fall and in Europe in spring. Insomniac says that the delayed North American release is due to the fact that they have something “very special” planned for the region to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ratchet and Clank.

Amazon France has leaked, what seems to be an HD collection for Ratchet and Clank. There are plenty of Ratchet and Clank games on the PS2; four to be precise, so it remains to be seen how many games are included in the collection.

We will keep you updated once we get an official confirmation from Sony, but this collection was expected anyway. Sony is on a mission to bring most of the PS2 releases to PS3 in high definition.
