You can only hit Legendary mode once you reach level 50 and can only be done 6 times with the last netting you coveted Zebra Donkey mount.

The Double XP event started at 1PM EST today and will end on Sunday, August 15 at Midnight EST.  Better get on that horse, or bull …or donkey are start leveling because if you can’t level 50 once, you sure as hell aren’t going to be able to do it five times as much more DLC is on the way for Red Dead Redemption listed below with no official date yet:
