Rockstar has indirectly confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 aka Red Dead Revolution or Rebellion is in development and to expect more information about the future of the series in due time. They broke silence after a long time with GTA 5 getting two new screenshots, as you can see here.

Hidden in their reply they said that they cannot reveal more information on GTA 5, but Read Dead 3 fans have something to cheer about.

“We love Red Dead too – and are thrilled that so many of you loved John Marston’s tale and are excited for more epic Western action,” Rockstar said.

“As we mentioned in our last set of Asked & Answereds to similar questions about the future of other game franchises like Bully and L.A. Noire, we don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won’t get to them eventually.

“Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series.”

Red Dead Redemption has certainly changed the game for Take Two. Earning near unanimous critical acclaim, and selling in excess of seven million copies worldwide since the game’s release earlier this year in May, the game has gone to become a property that is almost as big for Rockstar as Grand Theft Auto.

Apparently, then, the developers and publishers want to waste no time to capitalize on the hype and hysteria. As Scrawl reports, Rockstar may already be working on the sequel to the game. An employee of a services provider working on some early technical work for the game claims that it will be titled Red Dead Revolution.

That kind of makes sense, although the lack of any tangible source in this news report screams FAKE! Is this genuine or legit? Dunno. Watch this space in the coming months, we’ll have more for you for sure.
