Four players can play online or locally in the game’s Survival, Annihilate and Flag Frenzy modes. You will also be rewarded with bonus content like maps, vehicles, weapons and other items that will be usable in Red Faction: Armageddon.

THQ has registered a website domain called ‘Red Faction Battlegrounds’, speculations are that it is a 3DS game.

This could very be a 3DS or maybe a PSP/iPhone title, perhaps even a downloadable title, we’re not sure right now, but it does sound like it’s a spin-off version of Red Faction.

THQ are planning to release Saints Row on the 3DS, so that indicates that they are looking into Nintendo’s new handheld.
