The collection, which includes remasters of the original Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil Zero, launched in 2016.

Resident Evil Origins Collection launched for PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, before releasing for the Nintendo Switch in 2019, bringing HD remasters of the original Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil Zero to modern platforms. Of course, more modern platforms have released since then, and the remastered duology could be gearing up for more ports.

At least that’s if a recent ESRB listing is anything to go by. The ratings board has rated Resident Evil Origins Collection for Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Of the two, the game is, of course, already available on the latter. The listing seems to suggest, however, that it could be coming to Xbox Series X/S as well. Whether that means a PS5 port is also incoming is another question.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the only older Resident Evil release that seems to be preparing for a re-release. Resident Evil 6 has also been rated for Xbox Series X/S by the ESRB. Read more on that through here.

Only accounts for digital sales.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster has “performed favourably” according to the publisher in its latest earnings report. Having launched this past January, the sales named only account for the period between January and March 31st 2016.

These sales seem to encompass only digital sales though and don’t necessarily include copies sold through the Resident Evil Origins Collection (which also features Resident Evil HD Remaster). Regardless, the sales are good news for Capcom, especially coming off of last year’s success with RE HD Remaster.

A remake is also in development for Resident Evil 2 and unlike the above remasters, this will be a full remake from the ground-up. No details have been revealed, not even a release date. Could E3 2016 be the place where Capcom unveils more information? Perhaps the Resident Evil 2 Remake is part of the “full scale offensive” that Capcom has planned for the second half of the 2017 fiscal year? Time will tell so stay tuned for more information.

Though it’s been a rather quiet week for the West, Japan saw some rather cool releases in the past few days according to the latest Media Create sales chart data.

The biggest release was Yakuza: Kiwami on PS4 and PS3, which sold 103,256 units and 60,427 units respectively. Hyrule Warriors Legends also debuted in Japan for the 3DS with 54,479 units sold. Another new release was Just Cause 3 which managed to sell 33,660 units. Then there’s Resident Evil Origins Collection and Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster which sold 21,015 units and 15,639 units respectively.

The pre-existing releases like Monster Hunter X have been doing well. It sold 20,714 units, crossing 2,644,499 units in its lifetime while Splatoon sold 13,764 units bringing its lifetime total to 1,215,154 units. Yo-kai Watch Busters is also doing pretty well with 10,608 units sold in the past week and a lifetime total of 2,172,431 units sold.

What are your thoughts on the newest games in Japan and their sales figures? Let us know in the comments.

Resident Evil Origins Collection and Life is Strange debut.

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 continues its reign at the top of UK game charts according to Gfk Chart-Track. The top 10 for the week of January 23rd was pretty much the same as usual with games like FIFA 16, Grand Theft Auto 5, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege and Star Wars Battlefront also in the top five.

However, there was some new blood below that. Resident Evil Origins Collection arrived at retail with Resident Evil HD Remastered and Resident Evil 0 HD at number six. This was followed by the retail version of Life is Strange at seventh place. Just Cause 3 is in eighth place followed by Fallout 4 and, surprisingly enough, Dishonored: Definitive Edition (which occupied 32nd place the week prior).

The coming weeks should be interesting since games like The Witness, Dying Light: The Following and more will be releasing. What are your thoughts on the past week’s sales though? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
