Croteam’s award-winning puzzle adventure game The Talos Principle will be releasing on October 13th for the PlayStation 4 courtesy of Devolver Digital. The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition will include both the base game and the recently released expansion Road to Gehenna.

The Deluxe Edition will also be available as a boxed retail release in Europe, Australia and Asia thanks to Bandai Namco. Nighthawk Interactive will provide the same in North America.

The Talos Principle is perhaps one of the most unanticipated games of 2014 because it released at the tail end of the year and blew away both critics and gamers alike with its stunning art work, deep philosophical questions and mysterious storyline. Road to Gehenna expands on this significantly by allowing players to visit a hereto unexplored area of the simulation and play a whole new story.

Philosophical adventure title The Talos Principle has recently received a new expansion with Road to Gehenna. Retailing for $15 on Steam, the expansion promises plenty of new content and a different perspective on the world. Check out the launch trailer below.

Uriel will be exploring a different part of the simulation this time around and it will include its own characters and philosophy attached to it. Players can expect the same level of nuanced writing and backstory since the original game’s writers Tom Jubert and Jonas Kyratzes are working on the expansion.

The Talos Principle releases in December 2014 for PC and captivated many of us with its philosophical story. It’s set to release on PlayStation 4 as well but no release date has been revealed as of yet. One has to wonder if Road to Gehenna will be included when the PS4 version does arrive. Croteam’s philosophical puzzle adventure title The Talos Principle will be receiving an expansion pack this Spring with “Road to Gehenna”. The story will follow Elohim’s messenger Uriel as he embarks through what’s described as a “strange, hidden part of the simulation” to save the souls of the damned.

There will be four new episodes to look forward to in Road to Gehenna with new challenges as well. Co-writer Tom Jubert stated that, “We wanted to revisit the world of The Talos Principle and deliver new characters and a new world with its own history and culture. With Road to Gehenna we have created an all-new narrative which both branches off from and expands the original character’s journey.”
