Teyon impressed quite a sizeable crowd with Terminator: Resistance, so it’s no surprise that there are plenty of eyes on the developer’s next first person shooter based on a beloved action film franchise. RoboCop: Rogue City has looked like an intriguing prospect ever since its announcement, and during the recent Future Games Show, publisher Nacon showcased another new trailer for the shooter.

RoboCop: Rogue City is, of course, going to take players to the futuristic streets of Detroit, and the city is on full display in the game’s newest trailer.
10 minutes of new gameplay footage have emerged for Teyon's upcoming first person shooter.

Since announcing RoboCop: Rogue City a couple of years ago, developer Teyon and publisher Nacon have been largely quiet about the first person shooter, barring showing a few gameplay trailers here and there, but with its launch in September approaching quickly, that’s beginning to ramp up. Courtesy of a hands-on preview uploaded by IGN, roughly 10 minutes of new RoboCop: Rogue City have emerged, offering plenty of new details on the title.

Set between the events of the second and third movies, RoboCop: Rogue City will begin with a gang known as Torchheads, who are addicted to the narcotic Nuke, attack the Channel 9 headquarters and take it hostage, leading to RoboCop and his partner Agent Anne Lewis being asked to step in and resolve the situation.

Combat, as you would expect, is brutal and violent, and RoboCop himself as, appropriately enough, been described as a walking tank. He has slow and heavy movements, and is able to soak up incredible amounts of damage, with the preview pointing out that in the early section that IGN played, there was little to no challenge involved. It remains to be seen how that will evolve over the course of the rest of the game, which supposedly offers a 25-30 hour-long campaign.

Robocop can also use crunching melee attacks and also has a scanning ability, using which he can instantly pinpoint enemies in the environment. Meanwhile, outside of combat, players will be able to engage with a variety of side quests, many of which will be tied to investigative objectives that will see you looking for clues at crime scenes and making arrests. Players will also be able to listen in on conversations between NPCs to pick up new clues, or occasionally even open up new side objectives.

Meanwhile, though combat is obviously going to be a big part of the experience, RoboCop: Rogue City will seemingly also place quite a bit of emphasis on story choices and dialogue trees. Players will be able to resolve certain situations peacefully through dialogue options if they wish, while certain skill tree upgrades will also unlock new dialogue choices in conversations. Interacting with NPCs and completing quests will also earn you the trust of Detroit’s inhabitants.

You can check out the video below for more details.

RoboCop: Rogue City is set to launch sometime in September for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is also in the works.

The Teyon-developed first person shooter will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Last year, publisher Nacon and developer Teyon – the team that worked on Terminator: Resistance – announced that they were working on another beloved 1980s classic franchise when they announced RoboCop: Rogue City, set for release in 2023. Now, courtesy of a new trailer at the recent Nacon Connect event, we’ve got our first proper look at the game and what it will play like.

RoboCop: Rogue City will be a first person shooter, and we get a decent glimpse of some of the action it will have on offer in its new trailer. Its story and central premise are also highlighted, with players stepping into the shoes of the famous part-man, part-machine enforcer of justice in the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit. Oh, and Peter Weller is reprising his role as Alex Murphy. Check out the trailer below.

Nacon has also revealed a narrower release window for the game. RoboCop: Rogue City will launch in June 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The classic 1980s action film will get a new game adaptation within the next two years. It will come from the same developer as Terminator: Resistance.

The 1980s was a decade rife for action movies in American cinema. Among the many unique films out there was RoboCop. The film told the tragic tale of Alex Murphy, a police officer killed in the line of duty in the near future in the crime-ridden city of Old Detroit, and turned into the titular cyborg hero. The film was, to say the least, popular and spawned sequels and various other media. There’s even been a few video games, though the property has been absent from that field for a long time. Now that is going to change, though it won’t be all that soon.

Revealed at today’s Nacon Connect, the publisher announced they are working on a new title based on the franchise called RoboCop: Rogue City. The game will be developed by Teyon, who helped bring another classic 1980s action film to the game’s medium with Terminator: Resistance last year. You can see the teaser below. There isn’t much there, just giving us a glimpse of the hero’s infamous detachable gun coming from the hip.

RoboCop: Rogue City will release for unspecified consoles and PC sometime in 2023. As of now, no other details are known.
