The latest in music gaming tech will be out soon.

Earlier today it was announced by Ubisoft that their self-teaching guitar game, Rocksmith 2014 will release in the UK on October 25th. The 2014 version of Rocksmith will attempt to build on the first title in the series, which apparently has successfully taught many gamers how to play the guitar. This newest edition will feature a brand new interface and a myriad of new features.

One new feature is a new game mode titled Session Mode. Session mode allows players to, in essence, have their own jam sesh, and create their own original music. While they play, their virtual bandmates will accompany them, and follow the lead of their solos and such in real time.

Additionally, Rocksmith 2014 has an entirely new track list, with more than 55 hard hitting rock and roll classics for you to name out to. The game comes with the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, which is a Rocksmith specific USB cable that jacks your guitar into your console.

Ubisoft is also offering a bundle edition of the game, which comes with an actual Epiphone Les Paul Jr guitar. If this wasn’t enough, players who already own the original Rocksmith will be able to import all of the new tracks via digital download.

Over fifty songs with Rocksmith 2014.

The full track list for Ubisoft’s upcoming authentic guitar simulator, Rocksmith 2014 Edition, has been revealed. The full playlist has 55 songs, ranging from classic hits to modern, er, hits.

Plus, owners of the first game will be able to import songs from that game into Rocksmith 2014 Edition to expand the already extensive playlist even further (albeit for a small fee). The fee applies because each song from the first game has been reworked for all the new mechanics and features that the 2014 Edition offers (although, Ubisoft reminds us, the DLC from the first game will be compatible free of charge).

The newly revealed songs include Peace of Mind by Boston, Monster Truck by Sweet Mountain River, and System of a Down by Hypnotize.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition will be coming for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC (both PC and Mac), and allows players to plug in any guitar or bass directly into the system and get the real string instrument experience. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more details.

Guitarcade mode, allowing players to learn in a more relaxed environment.

Ubisoft’s Rocksmith was something of a revelation when it first released, and, alongside Ubisoft’s own Just Dance series, the reason that music games did not just die out in spite of Activision and EA’s best attempts to clog the market with multiple sequels in the same year.

The game, which invites players to use their own guitars, and learn how to play guitar properly, has often been called the easiest or fastest way to learn to play the guitar. In this upcoming Rocksmith 2014 edition, Ubisoft is continuing with making Rocksmith an earnest product, instead of a cynical one, and provide a good experience for the players.

The above trailer shows off the Guitarcade mode, which lets players learn advanced techniques in a less formal environment. Check out the video to find out more for yourself.

Rocksmith 2014 will launch on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this October. Stay tuned for more coverage.

Ubisoft has announced that Rocksmith Alternative Rock DLC pack is available for Xbox Live and PSN respectively. It’s a music game and is being termed as a revolution in the genre where players can plug any real electric guitar or bass into their Xbox 360, PS3, or PC

Players can also further enjoy their rock experience with the Classic Rock pack already available (£23.99 or 2400 MS points) and will be able to enrich even more their Rocksmith track list with the Metal pack due on December 2012.

It’s a real game for music loving fans, kind of like how simulators for cars on PC are known as something that offer car enthusiasts a real experience. It costs $30 or 2400 MS points and here are the details of the same.

§ Rush – “Tom Sawyer”

§ Rush – “YYZ”

§ Rush – “Limelight”

Deep Purple, The Police, Queen - and playing with a real guitar!

Rocksmith, the game from Ubisoft that lets you plug your guitar in and actually play chords on it to the songs on screen, has received it’s first DLC pack on XBox Live for Europe. Of course, PSN players will have to wait till October 31st to get their hands on this DLC, which adds a Classic Rock feel to the proceedings. On top of this, Ubisoft has also announced two more DLC packs coming soon that will feature Alternative Rock and Metal.

Those who pick up the Classic Rock pack can look forward to playing such classics as Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, The Blues Brothers’ Soul Man, The Police’s Roxanne, Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water, and many more. As long as we don’t have to look forward to Linkin Park on the Alternative Rock pack (Silversun Pickups and Nirvana, yes?), we’ll be willing to wait for those. What say, Ubisoft?

And the so-called band members in the video talk in depth about the options and customization you can do in Rocksmith. Not always in English mind you, but pictures, thousand words, worth more, that kind of thing.

For those unaware, Rocksmith allows one to plug in an actual guitar and play actual riffs and chords as if it were real. Check it out above.

Ubisoft recently invited some great guitarists to Gibson Guitar Studio London to show them Rocksmith.

Tea-making legend / guitarist Ross Phillips from indie rock band Hard-fi was among them. Check out this video to see what he thought.

Rocksmith revolutionizes how you improve your guitar skills or learn to play. Rocksmith is the first and only game that lets you plug ANY real guitar into your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 system and practice your guitar skills while you play.

Tested and proven to teach you to play better.

Whether it’s the guitar sitting in your attic, your cherished faithful steed, or the guitar you have yet to buy, Rocksmith lets you plug it into your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 system and begin your road to guitar mastery instantly.

Considering one of the criticisms against Guitar Hero and Rockband was the inability to really teach people about playing the instruments they were using (pfft).

Rocksmith throws that out the window and according to actual guitar players (who you can hear in the trailer), it actually feels like the real deal.

Rocksmith releases this October for PS3, XBox 360 and PC.
