The 1998 PS One classic finally comes to current-gen platforms with a fresh coat of paint. SaGa Frontier Remastered is now available for PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. The characters and environments have seen visual improvements but the core gameplay is still intact. Check out the main cast and gameplay in the trailers below.

Taking place in a system of planets called The Regions, the story features eight playable characters. The player is free to start with any one and go anywhere they like. Though relegated to an NPC role in the original, Fuse is now playable and has his own unique quest. Depending on your actions, characters’ fates may intertwine in different ways.

SaGa Frontier Remastered also provides new story events for Asellus along with additional scenarios and cutscenes. Quality of life features include 2x speed and a revamped UI. For a more in-depth look at the game and its characters, check out the overview trailer here.

Square Enix’s upcoming remaster for SaGa Frontier is out next week, bringing the classic JRPG to PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS and Android with improved visuals. Additional scenarios and cutscenes, like new story events for Asellus, are also included in the remastered along with quality of life features like 2x speed. Pre-orders for Square Enix’s SaGa Frontier Remastered have opened up ahead of the game’s launch next month. A new trailer has also been released, showcasing the improved visuals and multitude of characters that will be available. Check it out below.

SaGa Frontier features seven playable characters, each with their own stories as they traverse a set of planets called The Regions. In addition to all of this, the remaster a new visual style along with new story events and cutscenes.

Fuse is also playable as the eighth character and will have his own unique main quest to pursue. The UI is also seeing some changes while an option to increase the game speed by 2x will be offered. SaGa Frontier Remastered is out on April 15th for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, iOS and Android.

Though initially slated for this Summer, Square Enix announced in the latest Nintendo Direct that SaGa Frontier Remastered will launch on April 15th. It will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, iOS and Android.  The remaster offers enhancements to the characters and backgrounds while also adding Fuse as a playable character.

This brings the total number up to eight, though you need to finish the game first to unlock him. Asellus is also receiving some new story events which is nice. Other quality of life changes and improvements include user interface changes and an option to speed up the action by 2x.

SaGa Frontier was noteworthy at the time for being the first title in the series to release outside of Japan with the SaGa branding. Its “Free Scenario System” allows players to partake in different stories and travel to different regions without restrictions, altering the world based on their interactions.
