KONAMI today announced that Saw II: Flesh & Bloodwill be available at retail stores nationwide on October 19 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, just in time for the release of “Saw VII 3D”, the seventh installment of the popular horror franchise from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures. KONAMI has released an all-new look at concept art from the game for those daring enough to enter Jigsaw’s world. The images reveal newly created deadly traps that challenge the player to think fast under pressure. Zombie Studios Producer, John Williamson, shares the vision for the game, “Just the silhouette of the character in the trap had to make the viewer uncomfortable. You had to know instantly that something bad was going to happen to this person if you didn’t get them out.” A look at the intense and detailed environments were also revealed to show the mysterious, detailed levels one can expect in this year’s release.

SAW II: Flesh & Blood threatens sanity with new stomach-twisting traps and puzzles, more visceral combat, and an all-new storyline that takes place between the first and second movies. Gamers take on the role of Detective Tapp’s estranged son Michael, who is trying to understand his father’s death. As players navigate their way through Jigsaw’s terrifying world, they will face mind-bending puzzles and must defend themselves against the minions Jigsaw has placed in their path. In order to survive Jigsaw’s games, players must use their intelligence and desire to live in order to survive.

SAW II: Flesh & Blood will be available on October 19 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Konami definitely seems to be a believer of symbolism. Or maybe the release date it just announced for Saw II is just for effect. Make of it what you will, but Konami has announced that Saw II: Flesh and Blood, its super gory and needlessly violent game due for the Xbox 360 and the PS3, will now be hitting stores later this year, on the 31st of October, to be exact. We told you the release date was ominously symbolic.

John Williamson was on the stage to reveal that SAW 2 puts players in the shoes of Detective Trapp’s estranged son Michael, who is trying to understand the causes behind his father’s death. He went to explain that the game would have the player solving puzzles and using the environment while they fought off Jigsaw’s minions, but who are they kidding- we know it’s all just an excuse to get down to settling scores with nobody in particular- gorily.
