The things that go bump in the night are child's play compared to the locations that house them.

Spine tingling creatures. Grotesque abominations. Horrific monsters that creep up on us when we least suspect it. These are just a few of the reasons we continue to play these horror games, for the thrill. But what makes these things we fear so much scary? Could it be the environment that sets up the thrills and screams we fight through? Here are 15 locations we think are extremely tense and can make the hairs on the back of our neck stand up. What’s worse? Not all of them are from horror games…

P.T. – House

P.T.’s simple, short demo on PS4 was just a sliver of what fans were to be expected from a horrendously frightening game that ultimately met its untimely demise. The house where P.T. took place was a living, breathing nightmare. Dark, demented, and filled with something around its scary corners. There’s nothing more frightening than not knowing what is coming next and P.T.’s house delivered that in spades.
