Find out more about the randomly generated dungeons in From Software's PS4 exclusive.

From Software’s Bloodborne will be one of the few big PS4 exclusives to start off 2015 and will deliver the same hardcore gameplay that defined the Souls series (with some changes of course). In a new video, producer Masaaki Yamagiwa talks about the Chalice Dungeons and how they’ll bring more replay value for fans.

The Chalice Dungeons are a set of randomly generated dungeons with varying levels, layers and traps. You’ll have quite the challenges to confront, including a large flaming guard dog that isn’t in the mood for playing fetch. Along with promoting teamwork and sharing of experiences between players, the Chalice Dungeons’ rouge-like layout will allow players to replay it for many months to come.

Bloodborne will be releasing on March 24th in North America and March 27th in the UK. Are you looking forward to the game and what are your thoughts on the Chalice Dungeons? Let us know in the comments.

Shuhei Yoshida and company want to "really be confident" before introducing it again.

Despite SCEA CEO Jack Tretton stating that The Last Guardian was on hiatus and Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment president Shuhei Yoshida stating technical difficulties for its delay, The Last Guardian is still “alive and kicking in terms of development.”

Speaking to CVG, Yoshida stated that, “If you visit Japan Studio there are lots of people working on it. But as [designer Fumito Ueda] shared with people a couple of months ago, we really want to be confident next time when we introduce The Last Guardian to the public, so we are waiting for that time to come.”

Debuting at E3 2009, the only details about The Last Guardian we’re aware of are its development team having worked on ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, and its strange creature. Since then, creative lead Fumito Ueda left the company (but stayed on in an advisory role) and the game has been delayed endlessly.

Renegade for life.

Soul Sacrifice has released for the PlayStation Vita today in North America and Europe. From Keiji Inafune and Marvelous AQL, the game focuses on a mage’s prisoner who uses a magic tome to sacrifice souls for the purpose of power. Of course, he sacrifices his own parts for that very purpose. Check out the trailer above to ponder just what you’d do for ultimate power.

The prisoner will be exploring the different chapters in the tome, fighting through adventures wrought with monsters and evil demons. Using ad-hoc multiplayer, four players can fight cooperatively to take on the challenges within Librom and see whether they have what it takes to escape unscathed.

The mechanics of the game involving either saving or sacrificing enemies and allies for different benefits. You can save allies by sacrificing your own health, or sacrifice them to unleash damaging attacks. It’s an intriguing concept and players can use this to specialize in different skills and classes.

Also, running with scissors.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan turned several heads when it showcased Puppeteer for the first time at Gamescom 2012. This odd little platformer continued Sony’s tradition of investing in unorthodox new IPs with cutesy yet bizarre mechanics. Now, we get a taste of the macabre side of this investment as a new Halloween trailer for Puppeteer is making the rounds.

Squeamish folk need not worry, as the trailer is far from bloody. What it does showcase are the usual graveyard hauntings, meddling ghouls and, oh hey, the Angel of Death. There are also giant pumpkin enemies, one that swallows you whole while being lit up from the inside. You thus must navigate the level who’s enemies and obstacles are outlined in shadow form across the pumpkin’s interior. Simple, yet very very cool looking.

Check out Puppeteer in both 2D and 3D (which is still a thing, apparently) when it releases for Playstation 3 sometime in 2013.

Like The Last of Us but set in Tokyo and maybe not even half as good, Sony’s Tokyo Jungle is out now. Now you too can experience the pleasure of trying to survive in a city while playing as a little animal that would be gobbled up within seconds.

Tokyo Jungle will feature a Story and Survival mode, and over 50 playable animals with the object of hunting your way up to the top of the food chain. It’s a perilous journey, one that’s not at all contrived. Check out the trailer above.

And the puppet art style looks simply phenomenal.

Sony is on an avant garde path of game design as of late, as SCE Japan’s Puppeteer shows. The new trailer at TGS 2012 gave us a bit more information on the antagonist of the game, an evil king who looks popping puppets as much as flopping around on strings.

Enough can’t be said about the puppet theatre art style. The scissors gameplay was also showcased, along with the rote platforming and a heaping of story cutscenes. The entire game looks to be coming together well, and one could only hope that it releases soon enough.
