13 Games With Multiple Solutions for Puzzles

How many times have you encountered puzzles in video games and scoffed at how simple the solution is? You should probably take a closer look – sometimes the same puzzle can be completed in multiple different ways (or it’s actually just a really bad puzzle, that’s also possible). Here are a few games which revel in multiple solutions for their puzzles, challenging the player to either scoot by, completely exploit every single mechanic or recoil in horror at the randomness.

SpaceChem

SpaceChem is an intriguing and wickedly clever title that challenges you to create different designs for effectively converting raw materials to chemicals. It sounds straightforward but the actual process is full of potential since you can determine how different outputs are constructed, what the best ways to streamline production can be and everything else in between. It’s fairly complex and not the easiest to dive into for beginners but that moment where everything just clicks together for your own personal “Eureka!” moment is fantastic.

Scribblenauts Unmasked Stars Superman in All His Glory

Scribblenauts Unmasked, the upcoming DC comics tie in of the gleeful puzzle game series from 5th Cell, will feature Superman in not just one, but all of his variations and incarnations across the DC multiverse- this includes you regular Superman, Red Son Superman, Kingdom Come Superman, and more.

Pity it isn’t Batman they’re focusing on, though. Superman is interesting and all, but there’s only so much a do everything, always good all powerful superhero can do.

For those not in the know, Scribblenats Unmasked is the fourth installment in the award winning Scribblenauts franchise from 5th Cell. The new game, which takes Maxwell on a new quest, promises to add in to the trademark hilarity of the series by letting players access trademarked characters for the first time in its history.

Scribblenauts Unmasked hits Wii U, PC, and 3DS on September 24. Stay tuned for our coverage.

Next Scribblenauts Game Will Feature DC Superheroes

IGN has confirmed that the next Scribblenauts title from developer 5th Cell will be a DC Superheroes title. Originally titled Scribblenauts Unmasked, the game is undergoing some design changes (the name might not even be final).

An interesting example that one source provides: in the sewers below Wayne Manor, Killer Croc won’t let Max pass because he’s hungry. One dynamite sandwich later, Croc starts raging but Robin helps in his arrest while you get inside the Manor. Where apparently The Joker has manipulated the Batman and captured Bat Girl.

Another example: you have have to find out who Clayface is impersonating among two police officers. Here, you need to use an X-Ray and then freeze-gun to contain the villain.

The game will also feature characters like Aquaman, Black Manta, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze, along with areas like Atlantis. Each area will have new puzzles for the player to solve.

The developer is reportedly making changes till E3 so it’s not sure if it’s still the same game. We’ll find out at E3, since 5th Cell not responding to this new information.

Warner Bros registers website domain on Scribblenauts Remix

Warner Bros has register Scribblenauts Remix as a new website domain (spotted by Superannuation).

It could either be an all new game in the series, or a collection of Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts for either the 3DS, or iOS, or maybe even the PS Vita.

We don’t know what it it yet, but we’ll keep you informed.
