Second screen functionality also arriving via Bungie Mobile App.

In its Weekly Update for Destiny, Bungie has revealed that animal mounts won’t be heading to the sci-fi, multiplayer shooter, mainly because PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) would have a field day with the animal rights flouting.

“We considered animal mounts, but the weight-load of the Titan’s heavy armor kept breaking their backs, and we knew that PETA would go absolutely berserk.” The good news is you’ll find plenty of normal vehicles to murder perps with, though Bungie has yet to reveal the exact nature of the same.

It also seems that Destiny will feature second screen support from its Bungie Mobile App. As of now, it’s not confirmed as to what exactly The Companion, which is the name of this particular functionality will do but it will be available for iOS and Android. Maybe help manage your friends when conducting raids or sortees?

Destiny will release on September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.

Sony has officially updated its PlayStation App in preparation for the PS4’s launch and it is now available free for iOS and Android. Keep in mind that you’ll need a PSN ID in order to take advantage of it.

Some of the new features help integrate your smartphone or tablet with the new console. You’ll be able to view what your friends are playing, check your profile or recent activity and compare Trophies. You’ll also be able to chat with friends, with the chat-system being cross-platform with the PS4 and Vita, receive notification and even use your mobile as an on-screen keyboard for the PS4.

The app will also allow for new second-screen features, expected to be unique for each game, that will offer different challenges. If that weren’t enough, you can also easily access the PlayStation Store and browse through guides and manuals online.

The PlayStation 4 releases in North America on November 15th and in Europe on November 29th.

Access the PS Store, watch and live stream footage and much more thanks to the app.

The Official US PlayStation Blog has reported some new details on the upcoming PlayStation 4 app, which will be available for iOS and Android. It will allow your smartphone or tablet to tact as a second screen and includes such features as buying games from the PlayStation Store, watching and live-streaming game footage from your friend’s PS4, sending game invites and more.

There will also be companion game available such as the puzzle game for Knack when it releases in November, and the PlayStation 4 mobile app will be available to all developers, regardless of their size.

Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida stated that, “There are many big publishers creating their own apps for their games, like Watch Dogs or Battlefield, and that’s great. But smaller developers can use PlayStation App to connect to PS4 and load an application, like drawing software for example, so that you don’t have to download and install a specific app on your smartphone. It’s open to all PS4 developers to use.”

The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
