It takes place in a non-linear world where natural motion mechanics can be used to defeat enemies. You’ll have enough freedom to choose your own upgrades and abilities, which consist of offensive and defensive techniques, and there are more than enough spells and items for aiding your character. Severed will also feature a soundtrack by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan along with kulintang ensemble Pantayo. It’s certainly one of the more unorthodox gameplay experiences we’ve ever seen. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.

The Dead Space 2 DLC ‘Severed’ is now available on Xbox Live and if you have seen Dead Space Extraction you will be a little more informed here.   The ‘Severed’ DLC has the characters Gabe and Lexine that were in Dead Space Extraction.  Gabe journeys into the Sprawl to save Lexine as the story actually runs parallel to the main story in Dead Space 2 happening at the same time.  The DLC will only run you 560 Microsoft Points and will be made available for the Playstation 3 in a few more hours, while Europe gets it tomorrow.

EA’s announced the release date for Dead Space 2: Severed DLC pack today.

The pack will be releasing on March 1 on XBL and PSN.

Here’s the blurb on the DLC pack:

“As a security officer, Weller comes equipped with a one-of-a-kind security suit and an upgraded, more powerful Pulse Rifle that will help him unleash his own blood-curdling adventure across the Sprawl. Lurking behind every corner is another bloodthirsty monster but the big surprise for Weller (and fans) is the return of the Twitcher, a grotesque enemy who first appeared in the original Dead Space game.”

EA’s announced a new DLC pack for Dead Space 2, known as  Severed for PSN and XBL.

The DLC pack will feature the two main characters from Dead Space: Extraction as they make a comeback in “two standalone chapters” in the game’s story.

The player will control Gabe, a security guard on the Sprawl, as he struggles to get himself and Lexine off the ship against “his own onslaught of Necromorphs”.

The story will run in parallel with the main game’s one.
