Star Wars: Battlefront 2

Before Electronic Arts, live service, and tie-ins with every new film, there was LucasArts’ Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Published in 2005, it featured first, and third-person perspectives with four multiplayer modes and 24 maps. Of course, along with a campaign of 18 missions, there was Galactic Conquest, where players led their fleet through the galaxy and conquered or protected planets.

Upon encountering an enemy on a planet, it would shift to combat, resulting in massive battles. With the addition of Heroes, new modes like Hero Assault, and more content than its predecessor, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is still a strong benchmark for Star Wars titles.

Last year it was announced that the N64/PS1 horror action title, Shadow Man, would be getting a remaster. The game was something of a cult classic and fans have been waiting patiently for news on when they could revisit the unique title. Now we know when those on the PC can get their hands on it.

The unaltered original release of the game has been available via GOG and Steam for quite sometime. Developer Nightdive Studios today announced that the remaster would be coming first to PC next month. That includes three different storefronts: Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. Unfortunately, those waiting on the console versions will have to wait a little bit longer.

Shadow Man Remastered is set to come to PC on April 15th. The game will also come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch later in 2021. For some comparison shots between this game and the original release, take a look through here.

The remaster wizards at Night Dive Studios are at it again as they plan to remaster Shadow Man for 2021. The game is something of a cult classic that originally released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation and PC, then eventually the Dreamcast. It follows Michael LeRoi who has taken on the role of the Shadow Man, a long line of voodoo warriors tasked with protecting our world from the world of the dead. We’ve seen some footage of the game with its new facelift, and now we got some side-by-side comparison.

Night Dive released several screenshots showing something from the original title and then roughly the same shot from the upcoming remaster. There is obviously only so much that one can do with what’s there, but there’s definitely been a good deal of work put into this release. You can check them all out below.

It was over 20 years ago that Shadow Man originally released. The third person shooter was something of an instant cult classic when it launched on the Nintendo 64. Based on a comic book series of the same name, it saw you navigating The Deadside, a dark and voodoo-infused version of the underworld. And now it’s time to revisit that, all new and improved.

Developer Nightdive Studios announced the remaster earlier this year, and now we have a second teaser. The game will have a huge host of improvements including a remastered soundtrack, new and dynamic lighting and effects, updated controls and AI, modern resolution options, as well as the addition of once cut content. Shadow Man Remastered will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. As of now, there’s no announced date or time frame for when to expect it outside sometime in 2021.
