Though receptions was a bit divided on Eidos Montreal’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider, pretty much everyone agreed on the game’s Challenge Tombs being great. The developer is doubling down on that with, its Season Pass offering seven new Challenge Tombs to complete. The first is The Forge, and it’s now available for all platforms.

The Forge sends players on a mission to discover the secrets of Kuwaq Yaku, braving a tomb with copious amounts of lava. Lara Croft can handle the mission solo or bring another character in for co-op gameplay. Along with the new Brocken outfit and Umbrage 3-80, completing the tomb will unlock the Grenadier skill.

In addition to The Forge, the base game’s Court of Death tomb is available to play in Score Attack and Time Attack. Gates of Xilbalba will become available on November 27th, so even if you don’t purchase the Season Pass, there will be new things to do. Additional Challenge Tombs will offer new weapons, side stories, weapons, and outfits, so stay tuned for more details on their release dates.

A little over a month since its release, Eidos Montreal’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been discounted for PC on Steam. The base game sees a 34 percent discount, while the Season Pass – which contains new Challenge Tombs – has also been discounted by 34 percent. Also, the Digital Deluxe Edition has been discounted by 36 percent. All discount offers will come to a close on October 22nd.

Though we liked the approach taken with Shadow of the Tomb Raider (full our review here), many outlets have criticized the overall characterization of Lara Croft, as well as the story. Even with the discounts, it’s advised to view gameplay footage and other playthroughs beforehand to see if this is the game for you.

If you already own Shadow of the Tomb Raider for PC, then the Season Pass discount comes at a good time. The first of seven Challenge Tombs will be launching in November with The Forge. Along with co-op support for five of the tombs, there will be new outfits, skills, and weapons. Furthermore, each Challenge Tomb will have its own narrative hook as the player teams up with established story characters. The Forge arrives on November 13th and can also be purchased separately for $5.
