January 22nd sees the arrival of Flock, Magical Delicacy, Tchia, The Case of the Golden Idol, and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on consoles for Game Pass Standard subscribers. They’re joined by Gigantic: Rampage Edition, playable for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, and Starbound. January 28th sees the arrival of two brand new titles – Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap and Eternal Strands.

Both are playable on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Shady Part of Me debuts on January 29th for all tiers, and Sniper Elite: Resistance sneaks in on January 30th for Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The month caps off with Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector on January 31st for cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

But wait, there’s more, as Far Cry New Dawn will be added for all subscribers on February 4th. Of course, there will be titles leaving the service on January 31st. Check them out below.

The Game Awards 2020 had its fair share of announcements, both big and small. This includes Shady Part of Me, developed by Douze Dixièmes and published by Focus Home Interactive. As a narrative-based puzzle platformer, it released on the same day as the awards show and garnered a decent amount of acclaim.

To that end, an accolades trailer has been released, highlighting the praise. Shady Part of Me is about a girl and her shadow who venture through strange dreamscapes. Gameplay alternates between 2D and 3D and players must solve various puzzles in order to “break the dream.”

Though not very long, the narrative does offer its fair share of twists and emotional moments. There’s also the watercolor aesthetic, which suits the light vs. dark theme well. Hannah Murray, known for her work on Game of Thrones and Skins, also lends her voice to the title. Shady Part of Me is currently available for PC via Steam, Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Evil West may have attracted more attention but the first of Focus Interactive’s reveals at The Game Awards 2020 was the least expected. Developed by Douze-Dixiemes, Shady Part of Me is already available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out the debut trailer below.

As a narrative puzzle game, Shady Part of Me focuses on the journey of a young girl and her shadow. Traversing through various dreamscapes, the two must work together to survive. The core gameplay involves switching between 2D and 3D gameplay and the player can also rewind time to further aid in situations.

The aesthetic is perhaps the most interesting part of the game, offering watercolor-like flourishes and 2D animation in a largely 3D animated game. And if that weren’t enough, Hannah Murray of Game of Thrones and Skins lends her voice to the game. Shady Part of Me retails for $14.99 on all platforms but is currently discounted on the Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam.
