Find out what your latest system update can do for you.

Sony’s latest firmware update for the PlayStation 4, system update 1.70, has finally gone live. The update itself is separate from SHAREfactory, with the former weighing 194 MB while the latter requires an additional 972 MB (according to NeoGAF). Screenshots have also emerged, detailing the changes [Thanks, Redditor MrSazperilla]. Check them out below.

SHAREfactory allows you to customize PS4 footage and edit it together with custom effects and commentary. You can also add your own songs and audio tracks by importing the same through a USB device, after which videos can be shared on Facebook or exported separately.

Other updates including being able to download pre-ordered games several days before they’re released so you can experience the same on launch day. HDCP has also been disabled so if you’re a fan of capturing footage through HDMI on a computer, then you’re now able to do so. If you want to export gameplay from the PS4 directly, you can now use the Share button and save footage on a USB drive. Live Broadcasts have also been modified to allow for live-streaming in 720p HD and you can now archive broadcasts on Twitch and UStream.

That’s only a smidgeon of the changes introduced. The update is currently live in the US – you can get all the details here.

RedLynx’s Trials Fusion is out now for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS4, with the PC version out on April 24th. The game has started receiving updates though, most notably the 1.8 patch for the PS4 version. This patch helps fix a serious crash that took place when using the Share button with Software 1.7.

Other changes include an update Ride menu; improved stability and replay accuracy so you could further admire your insanity; improvements to the editor; and other assorted bugs that have been fixed. Noticed any changes in performance? Still experiencing crashes? Let Ubisoft know your thoughts.

Trials Fusion released last week and has received some fairly good praise. It somewhat takes place in the future and features new stunts that can be performed using the right analog stick along with the standard new tracks, riders, gear and much more. Stay tuned for more information as the PC version hits in the coming days.

See how the Share button works in Ubisoft's open world adventure.

After Destiny from Bungie Studios, it’s now the turn of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs. The open world hacking adventure has received a new PS4 commercial which shows off the game and also outlines the sharing functions of the console. Check it out above.

This follows a GIF comparison for the PlayStation 4 version which showcases that there’s been no visual downgrade to the game since its last reveal in September 2013. Regardless, the game will be out this May so we’ll be able to judge for ourselves just how good (or bad) the final game is.

Watch Dogs was originally slated to release in November 2013 but was delayed following the need for extra polish by Ubisoft. It now has a release date of May 27th for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with the Wii U version releasing some time later. Which platform will you be playing it on? Let us know below.

The "shared world" shooter shows off some new footage.

Bungie’s Destiny will be out later this year but there’s still a lot we don’t know about the game. A new advertisement has been revealed though which showcases some of the sharing features within the PlayStation 4. You can check it out above – for the rest of us, it’s the new gameplay that matters though.

Destiny is an online shooter in which players can effectively team up and cooperate in a big way for sci-fi quests and raids. It will be heavily loot-based – like a solid combination between Borderlands and Halo – but there is a strong single-player campaign to be had as well. As time goes on, we’ll see just how it performs on specific platforms, especially on the Xbox One.

Scheduled for release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Destiny will be out on September 21st worldwide. Will you be picking it up or do you need more convincing? Let us know below.

Users have been facing problems recording the exact clips they want on the PS4.

There have been virtually millions of shares since the PlayStation 4 has launched, matching the immense success of the next generation console. However, the Share button may be far from perfect according to some users.

A user on Reddit complained that there was initially no problem with the Share button at launch but, “Now it’s not even capturing what I wanted. Its like it captures a couple minutes before what I wanted. I won’t ever be able to see my first heli pilot kill again:( Thanks, Sony.”

Other users have been facing similar issues. “There’s a bit in Killzone where if you melee a guard he falls onto a ramp to an elevator. When you start the elevator the ramp flips up and so does the guard. Silly really, but it was a moment I wanted to share, yet the system had only stored the very end of the last chapter. Disappointing.” And yes, several others have tried capturing the same moment to not avail.

There are other complaints regarding the Sharing system. As of now, you can only share via Facebook and unless you make your posts public, only your friends will be able to see it. Even if you have friends on PSN, they’ll only be able to see it if they’re on your Friends list. As one user puts it, “This is a cumbersome system. I know a majority of my Facebook friends don’t care about what I share on PS4. Facebook is the last place I’d want to share my clips. I rather have YouTube, or someway to share only to my PSN friends. Or even better yet, allow us to download the raw file of footage. I know Sony intends to do these things. I just hope it comes sooner than later.”

What are your thoughts on the same? Is the DualShock 4’s Share button causing trouble for you as well or is it running silky smooth? Let us know in the comments below.

Evolution's next-gen racer is looking better than ever.

Evolution Studios has uploaded two new videos of their upcoming PS4 driving simulation DriveClub. The PlayStation 4 was launching on November 15th in North America and though DriveClub was originally to be one of its launch titles, the exclusive was delayed until 2014 due to more work needing to be done on the sharing and social features. Evolution has also been taking the time to improve the visuals of the game, particularly when it comes to weather effects.

DriveClub will be released at retail and a free version will also be available via PlayStation Plus. Stay tuned for more details including a definitive release date as the month go by. Till then, share your experiences with the PS4 and the Share button below in the comments.

You'll be able to do more with the Share button than just record video.

Kenny Linder, a former employee of shuttered Sony UK studio Bigbig, has revealed some new details about the PlayStation 4’s OS , namely about adjusting the safe zone, notifications and the extent of what the Share button can do.

Remember playing some games where you could adjust the size of the screen to better fit the game into the edges? That square is the safe zone and dictates how the game is fit into your display. You can now adjust it in the PS4’s OS itself, thus eliminating the need to individually match it for each game.

As for notifications, you can choose from different toggles for what notification you receive such as for Friends, Downloads Complete and much more. If you want to game in peace without any notifications, you can switch them off without issues. You also have the option to turn the OS music on and off.

The Share button has three key functions: the ability to take screenshots, calling up the menu and recording video. You’ll also have different options for how many taps do what. For example, a single press of the Share button could take a screenshot while double tapping it will start recording. You can adjust these around to have a single press bring up the menu and a long press to start recording depending on your preferences.

The PlayStation 4 will be launching on November 15th in North America and on November 29th in Europe. What are your thoughts on these additions to the OS? Let us know below.
